WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 6 Preview | Will there be an Impact or a Long Shot?

Scott soars for the board

Week six in Westminster will be highlighted by one game and one game only: The Long Shots taking on Impact Basketball. These two teams come in to the week undefeated and only one will survive.

Long Shots vs. IMPACT Basketball

Kicking off the night, we have the Game of the Week with the two undefeated teams going at it. IMPACT has been the power ranked number one team but Long Shots haven’t been far behind and their record shows it. Typically either Beau Barney or Jimmie Binnie has led the team to victory each week and what’s scary is they yet have both to play their best basketball in the same game. Long Shots will need a solid team effort on both ends of the court and someone other than Derek Elliot will need to score some points if they really want to have a chance this week. IMPACT has the size advantage but the Long Shots have the 3 ball on their side. This should be a very interesting matchup and one that will have most all the gym captivated.

VEGAS SPREAD: IMPACT -8

Ciroc Boyz vs. Purple Cobras

Ciroc Boyz are coming off of a poor performance last week and will likely use this week to get back on track. Purple Cobras are on a 2 game losing streak and a win this week would be huge not only for them but would also shock the rest of the league. Ciroc Boyz has had some injuries as of late but will likely be healed up in time for the playoffs. With the hot shooting hand as of late with Chris Morgan and Alfredo Garcia, Ciroc Boyz should be the favorite this week but the Purple Cobras are indeed improving and you never know what could happen.

VEGAS SPREAD: Ciroc Boyz -15

Medicinal Mambas vs. The Bad Boys

In another great matchup, two teams that have been playing great basketball as of late will head off one of the later games. The Bad Boys are sitting in third overall while the Mambas are riding a two game win streak. Ruben Rivas is playing some of his old teammates and there is sure to be some natural animosity in the game. The Mambas are the better outside shooters of the two teams but the Bad Boys are better inside the paint and getting to the rim. These two teams have very contrasting play styles and it could come down to which team digs in more on the defensive end of the court. Carlos Matos vs Ruben Rivas is enough to get anyone’s attention this week and will be surely one matchup no one will want to miss.

VEGAS SPREAD: Bad Boys -4.5

The Gladiators vs. Life Time Legends

Both these two teams really need a win and this is the week either team could potentially get that win. The Gladiators have had some close games this season but haven’t seemed to scratch into the win column yet. The Legends have gotten better over the season but are still finding themselves in the bottom of the standings. Both teams are very streaky and the winner could easily just be whichever team finds themselves with the hotter hand late in the game. Even though neither team has a good record, this should still be a good game in one that both teams really need the win. Expect this game to be fairly low scoring, but also a game that will go down to the wire.

VEGAS SPREAD: Life Time Legends -6.5

Eat, Sleep, Ball, Repeat vs. LT Ballers

ESBR has finally got a win under their belt and isn’t the only win we can expect from them this season. Their schedule has been very tough this season and will only ease up the rest of the way. The LT Ballers have been on the wrong end of a few blowouts as of late and really are just struggling on the offensive end of the court outside of Chris Ellis. ESBR has the speed and athleticism to take over the game so I expect them to get out and push the pace right from the jump ball. The Ballers have the talent to score on the offensive end of the court but really need to step up on defense if they want to contend in any more games this season. I don’t expect much from this game but I do expect ESBR to play one of their better games of the season.

VEGAS SPREAD: ESBR-15
