WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 4 Preview | All good (and bad) things must come to an end

The Bad Boys look for the upset

Week four of the winter season will conclude with one less undefeated team as Impact Basketball squares off with The Bad Boys in the game of the week. Another streak that will go to the wayside is either the Medicinal Mambas or The Gladiators will get their first win of 2016. Here is your full week four preview.

Long Shots vs. Purple Cobras

The Long Shots are one of three remaining undefeated teams in Westminster while the Purple Cobras are sitting at a solid 2-1. There's no doubt this game will feature an uptempo style of play, with the Long Shots not being fearful of taking quick shots, much like the Steve Nash-led Suns of the mid 2000's. There's no doubt that Long Shots captain Derek Elliott will take his fair share of the shots while the Purple Cobras like to spread the ball around and have balanced scoring. Even though both of these teams have winning records, don't expect this one to be very close.

Las Vegas spread: Long Shots -18

Ciroc Boyz vs. Eat, Sleep, Ball, Repeat

Ciroc Boyz have been a tough team to beat in the early going of the season while ESBR have struggled to find their rhythm. Ciroc Boyz have a lot of scoring options, but are led by Chris Morgan and Alfredo Gracia, who went off last week for 49 points in their lopsided victory. ESBR will have to play close to perfect to pull off this upset, and if they do, you can expect Nick Folkedahl and Steven Swift to both have big games.

Las Vegas spread: Ciroc Boyz -15

The Bad Boys vs. Impact Basketball

Two of the three undefeated teams face off in this matchup. The defending champs, Impact, look to remain undefeated as they take on the talented, but sometimes implosive, Bad Boys. There's no question that Beau Barney and Jimmy Binnie will get theirs, the question is who else will make an impact of their own on the game? There's plenty of talent there, and anyone is capable at stepping up at anytime. For The Bad Boys, they have 2015 MVP Carlos Matos running the show which means they have a true leader running the point. In the past, Matt Lloyd has been referred to as an X-factor...but that is in the past. Lloyd is a bona fide scorer that will need to have a big game for The Bad Boys to pull off the upset. If The Bad Boys can keep their eyes on the prize and play a full 44 minutes, this could be a good game.

Las Vegas spread: Impact -12

Life Time Legends vs. LT Ballers

This is the matchup of two free agent teams, but one thing is certain: these are the two best free agent teams in Westminster history. LT Ballers already have a W under their belt and the Legends took the undefeated Long Shots down to the wire last week. LT Ballers have two UH veterans in Chris Ellis and Lucius Wall who will keep their squad loose and ready to play. UH newcomer Paul Grosshuesch made a splash last week by scoring 34 points in his debut, which included five of eight from downtown. This should be one of the closest games of the night.

Las Vegas spread: Life Time Legends -4

Medicinal Mambas vs. The Gladiators

The finale of week four features two teams that haven't won a game yet, but are very capable of putting together winning streaks at any moment. In classic Aaron Lohmann fashion, the Medicinal Mambas are a makeshift team with plenty of talent but haven't learned how to play together quite yet. They are led by UH fan favorite Ruben Rivas, who made his triumphant return to the UH hardwood this season. The Gladiators will be without longtime captain Saul Chavira, who is listed as questionable with a knee injury. It's strange not seeing Chavira on the court with his squad, but The Gladiators are playing tough basketball. This should also be a close game to end the night.

Las Vegas spread: Medicinal Mambas -1
