ROSEVILLE, CA: Week 3 Power Rankings | Week 4 Predictions

ROSEVILLE, CA: Week 3 Power Rankings | Week 4 Predictions

Week 3 for Ultimate Hoops in Roseville, California was exciting! John Pichon had himself a day and lead the entire Ultimate Hoops League, nationwide, as player of the week. The competition was good for the most part, but my predictions held true. With the additions of Chris Collins and Tauran Moore to North Carolina, that will certainly shake things up in week 4. Let’s look at the new power rankings after week 3, and the predictions for the upcoming week 4 games, this Monday.

RANKED 1 Syracuse 3-0

Ryan Nakamura, Emanuel Maceira, Juston Willis, and team continue to work extremely well together. It is still neck and neck with Syracuse and Michigan in my opinion. You can not count out Gonzaga, Duke, or the rejuvenated North Carolina, but with a selfless and talented team like Syracuse, I have to rank them number one again until proven otherwise. If they can beat out Gonzaga this week like I think they will, they will be hard to stop, even when matching up with Michigan next week.

PREDICTION: Syracuse over Gonzaga by 3

RANKED 2 Michigan 3-0

Prescott Johnson, Clarence Lee, Ben Douglas, and crew continue to dominate. At 3-0 I have them ranked second, just below Syracuse. This week they play Duke and it will be a tough game. This game will tell a lot about the season. I think they may squeeze by.

PREDICTION: Michigan over Duke by 3

RANKED 3 Gonzaga 2-1

Guard, Erik Thomas, and 6’8” Center, Lavin Peets, continue to work well with their team. With Erik outside and Lavin inside they are solid inside and out, and the rest of the team fills in nicely. I have them barely losing to Syracuse this week, but it’s going to be close.

PREDICTION: Syracuse over Gonzaga by 3

RANKED 4 Duke 2-1

I have John Pichon, McCory Ledesky, Mark Randle and the rest of Duke ranked 4th, but they are one of the teams that might make a run this season if they continue the way they are going. If they can beat out Michigan this week, the sky is the limit. I have them just barely losing this week to Michigan.

PREDICTION: Michigan over Duke by 3

RANKED 5 North Carolina 1-2

Austin Brewer, Chris Collins, Tauran Moore, Gabriel Hern, and team are stacked now. Don’t be surprised if they start climbing up the rankings. They have ten players on the roster and several of them are good. With this recent change they will probably make a strong run during the second half of the season. They should beat Pepperdine on Monday.

PREDICTION: North Carolina over Pepperdine by 9

RANKED 6 Oregon 1-2

Max Comerford, Jason Alfonso, and Deon Taylor continue to play solid team ball, and hit behind the line. I have them ranked 6 and beating out the 0-3 Arizona this week.

PREDICTION: Oregon over Arizona by 6

RANKED 7 Pepperdine 0-3

Ralph Sanders, Jose Zaragoza, Edward Miller, Todd Bryan, and the guys still have potential to be a good team, despite their record. They just need to all show up and play together as a team. If they don’t they will struggle with North Carolina.

PREDICTION: North Carolina over Pepperdine by 9

RANKED 8 Arizona 0-3

Deon Robinson leads his team in points, assists, steals, and blocks. He needs some help, and they all need to play as a team. Their team chemistry seems to be off and until that is corrected they will probably continue to struggle. The early leaders in the league seem to be having success from their team play, and Arizona has yet to string that together. I have Oregon winning by 6.

PREDICTION: Oregon over Arizona by 6

Don’t like your ranking? Think my prediction is wrong? Do something about it on the court on Monday.
