MONTVALE, NJ: Where Do We Stand With One Week Left?

The Ballerz are still holding steady at #1

With two games remaining before the playoffs, take a look at our late-season Power Rankings.

1. Ferrall Ballerz (5-1) – Hard to argue with them in the top spot. The defending champs are the only 1-loss team in the league. They were caught off-guard by the newcomers, Team Banner, in their opener. Other than that, it’s been smooth sailing. In fact, they just got revenge on Team Banner with a great defensive effort. Credit Jeff Fazio for some lock-down D in the past two games against a few of our league’s top scorers.

2. Team Banner (4-2) – Do these guys have enough weapons? If Nick Bigos is absent (like he was against the Ballerz), it removes a huge offensive option. They've already lost a close one to the Bad Boyz and hung on vs. the Troopers. Can they score enough consistently? We shall see.

3. Flint Troopicers(?) (4-2) – These guys have gotten no respect. We’re still not even sure if they are the Flint Troopers or Flint Tropics. In the video below, Ferrall doesn’t even mention them as contenders. Yet here they are. They could easily be second on this list. The Flint boys have been in every game and have managed to succeed without any bench. Will the no-sub thing matter? Considering they have four double-digit scorers and John Robertson makes nearly half his shots, it might not.

4. Bad Boyz (3-3) – These guys have looked at times really impressive and at others really sloppy. Good defenses like the Ballerz bring out the latter. That could be a problem. And when there’s a problem, you don’t want to be a teammate of Rob Cohan’s. Will the Gashi brothers be able to keep up their rock star status against the league’s best? See their interview with Ferrall below.

5. Bergen Tropics (2-4) – Record-wise, they are still in this thing. Record-wise. Their four losses have come at an average of over 30 points per. It’s time to give the ball to Randy Foster. His shooting percentage is nearly 30% better than anyone else on the team! Just looking for the positives here. Anyway, how, you ask, do these guys have two wins? Well, they came against…

6. Super Splash Brothers (0-6) – Is there really any explanation needed here? A shout out to the few team members who are still showing up at this point in the season. It will all be over soon, guys.
