PHOENIX, AZ: Week 7 Power Rankings | We have a New King of the Hill

Ryan Brown and the Head Bustas take over the top spot

The Bulls lost for the first time this season and we now have 3 teams tied with 6-1 records heading into the final week of the regular season. So who is the #1 team now?

Week 7 Power Rankings

1. HEAD BUSTAS: The team is clicking on all cylinders right now and has won 4 straight games. One of their top players decided to quit and leave the game last night because of a missed call. The talent is there to win it all but will they be able to keep their composure in the playoffs?

2. MONSTARS: The Monstars make a very strong argument to be #1 especially when everyone is in uniform. They had their best game of the season last night destroying their crosstown rival the Bulls. MVP Candidate Kenny Mahone put up the first triple double of the season last night and has proved this team is pretty much unbeatable whenever he suits up.

3. BULLS: Are they still hung-over from Vegas? It sure looked like it after getting smoked by the Monstars last night. That was not the same Bulls team we have seen the last 6 weeks. We knew losing star point guard Mark Hanoosh for the season was going to hurt but losing by nearly 30 points? I didn’t see that coming.

4. WHO’S NEXT: This is my sleeper team to win it all. The Mark Price and Nick Tomsick tandem is arguably the league’s best 1-2 punch. Nick is leading the league in scoring and Mark is arguably the league’s best big man. But will they have enough help to win it all? Kris Hennen and Darrell Hunter will be the XFactor’s for this teams success in the playoffs.

5. LIFETIME TEMPE: Playing the Head Bustas with half your team missing is not a recipe for success. They got absolutely destroyed last night and I really don’t have anything much else to say. Sean Eddy better show up for the playoffs or it might be a quick one and done for team Lifetime.

6. UPPER ECHELON: They have won 2 straight and the team is finally starting to come together. Matt Shahin and Tevin Newell both stepped up huge this week and have given team Echelon new life and confidence for the playoffs. Check out their post game interview from this week.

7. TEMPE: It’s hard to write anything positive when your team is coming off a 48-point loss. However the good news is that this team gets crosstown rival Gilbert to close out the season. Hopefully they can end the season on a positive note. Looking forward to seeing some of these guys on new teams next season and continuing their UHoops career.

8. GILBERT: If we had fantasy basketball for Ultimate Hoops, Michael Rose would be a consensus top 5 player selected. The man just puts up monster numbers every week and you can always count on him being there. If anyone can use 24 and 9 for their summer league team please give Michael a call.
