MANSFIELD, TX: Danyul Hamilton Plays For The Agents, Not Himself

Interview with Danyul Hamilton of The Agents

Danyul Hamilton of The Agents is quite the competitive player, but speaks humbly of himself when it comes to what he thinks his role is on the team and where he ranks as an individual player the league itself.

Danyul is more concerned about the "W" rather than his own individual stats unless they are defensive stats, and who could really be mad at that? At 6'2" he can really get some air under those shoes when he leaps, and though he's not a towering defender, it's really not that surprising that he leads the league in blocks so far this season with 11, averaging 2.2 a game, and if he's not blocking shots then he's deterring or changing shots when players get a lane or get in the paint for an attempt. His defensive abilities, along with double-digit scoring (11.6 pts a game) and snagging nearly 7 boards a game definitely gives him a name in this league.

The Agents may be 1-4, but when you look at the stats you cannot count them out. They have yet to lose a game by double digits, and losing by 8 to Heavy Hitters last week was the most they've lost by all season. Collectively they shoot really good from the field (49%)and rank 1st in steals and blocks. The key to their ultimate success may be in both clutch offense and defense, as they just can't seem to close out games, but Danyul himself says "I think we have a very good chance if we would actually hit our freakin' layups and make some free throws we'd be a decent team". They shoot under 70% from the line as a team, and free throws can make or break you when it comes to those final seconds of a game.

Check out the entire interview with "D-Hamilton" and his thoughts on himself, the league, and his team.
