PHOENIX, AZ: Week 5 Power Rankings | Save the Drama for Your Mama

Who's Next New Starting Center Mark Price has some words for his former teammates

BREAKING NEWS: Superstar Center Mark Price was released from the Bulls last week and has signed with team Who’s Next at the waiver deadline. Check out his epic interview here and see what he had to say to say about his former team. Let’s just say it wasn’t very nice…

WAIVER WIRE NEWS

Who’s Next and the Head Bustas were the big winners at the waiver deadline this week. Both teams have made significant improvements to their roster for the 2nd half stretch run and have put themselves in a position to win it all. Who’s Next signed star guard Nick Tomsick and controversial star center Mark Price after he was released this week by the Bulls. The new additions have put Who’s Next in the top 4 in our power rankings this week: not bad for a team who a week ago that was ranked dead last. That’s what happens when you add a 6-9 game changer and a guard capable of putting up 30 on any given night.

I think the Bulls made a huge mistake releasing their star center and putting him on waivers last week. 6-9 centers that can handle the ball and jump out the gym don’t exactly grow on trees at Lifetime. The team that was the early favorite to win it all has now made things a lot more interesting in Tempe this Spring...

Head Bustas signed human pogo stick Michael Purdie this week has instantly made the Head Bustas a title contender this Spring. The dude has some ridiculous bounce and will be a match up nightmare for all opposing teams the rest of the way. With Michael on board they now have one of the most talented starting fives on paper. How that plays out is another question.

All rosters are now locked and set for the rest of the season. Looking forward to see how the rest of the season plays out with all these roster changes at the deadline. I can honestly say I think there are at least 4-5 teams that can potentially win it all.

Week 5 Power Rankings

1. MONSTARS: They have like 4 players that can drop 30 on any given night. When their entire team shows up they look unstoppable. The problem is they don’t always show up.

2. BULLS: Their lack of size got exposed a little this past week against team Lifetime. However they're still the most skilled and fastest starting 5 in the league. Will they be better off with out big Mark? I guess we’ll find out next week when they play each other in perhaps the most controversial game of the year.

3. HEAD BUSTAS: Signing Michael Purdie this week was huge. Will there be enough balls to go around this talented starting five? Looking forward to their matchup next week vs the Monstars. HUGE test.

4. WHO’S NEXT: Yes they just got bumped from 8 to 4 in one week. That’s how good Mark Price and Nick Tomsick are. Both lived up to their hype in their debuts this week with Nick putting up 31 and Mark chipping in with 24 points. Mark is licking his chops for next week’s game against his former team and I can’t wait to witness it.

5. LIFETIME TEMPE: Put up a very solid effort against the Bulls this past week. What happens if Brandon Walker doesn’t hit 8 three pointers? The game was a lot closer than the score indicated.

6. TEMPE: They possess one of the most athletic starting fives in the league. They just haven’t figured it out yet. Adding talented point guard BJ Letcher was a good move but time is running out.

7. UPPER ECHELON: Remember the time when Delvin Brown and Joseph Huber were on the team? The bad news is the team has hit rock bottom and started the season 0-5. The good news is everyone in the league makes the playoffs.

8. GILBERT: Michael Rose will be one of the top free agents after this Spring Season ends. Where will he signing will be one of the top stories this offseason.
