COMMERCE PREP: Prep Spotlight | Do these stars have what it takes to play in the open league?
Armando Suleiman with the step back shot
We have already seen a number of Ultimate Hoops rookies and vets who've established themselves as contributors and immediate threats in their league, but how would that pan out in our adult division?
When predicting Open league readiness, we took into account everything from strong physical tools to specific skills and various intangibles.
Those who didn't make the cut likely lacked strength, polish and experience. These are the three prospects we expect to emerge as rotation players or starters during their first season in our Open league.
Julian Kamposh - Physically, though not the most explosive guard, but he makes it up with heart. Julian's skills could allow him to contribute and ultimately generate offense as a guard in the open league. A crafty playmaker with a sharp basketball IQ, His jumper is also dangerous especially if he gets hot.
Jamar Mathews - Physically and athletically, he'll fit right in at both ends of the floor with advantageous size and explosiveness. Jamars ball skills are razor-sharp. One flaw about his game is his inconsistent shot, but he has Spectacular vision and passing instincts which will hold immediate value and give Jamar purpose on days his shot isn't falling.
Anthony Denha - With exceptional length, foot speed and anticipation, he's a blanket at the point. Denha uses his long arms, quick hands and feet to pressure ball-handlers and sneak into passing lanes. He's currently sits in first place for steal per game.
