COMMERCE OPEN: Predictions | C4 loses 2 star players

Julio Alvarado warming up before his game

This week is highlighted in the nightcap where the #1 (Dat Aint Fair) and #2 (Running Rebels) ranked teams play for league power ranking supremacy going into the final week of the regular season. There are still 4 teams vying for 3 playoff positions in the last two weeks of the regular season so teams will be giving it their all to secure a playoff spot.

7:00 p.m. – C4 (4-2) vs. Squad (2-4)
Last time these two teams met C4 came out with a 100-81 victory. Squad has been playing much better of late though and has a great chance to knock off C4 who will be playing without big man Joseph Kassis (out for the session) and sharpshooter Jeff Jayson. C4 PG Brandon Nafso went off for 41 pts last time against Squad so look for them to formulate a game plan around stopping him. Kassis will be missed in the paint as he poured in 16 pts w/ 14 reb in the week 2 matchup. If GM Ben Kil can get Squad to play together for a full 40 minutes, expect an upset Thursday night.

Squad 85 – C4 81

8:00 p.m. – Sons of Basketball (2-4) vs. Rock City (0-6)
If Sons of Basketball wants to secure a spot in the playoffs, they must win their last two games to finish 4-4. Last time they played Rock City, Sons won 80-53 and will be hungry coming off of 4 straight losses to get back into the winning column Thursday night. Look for Joel Simpson and Daniel Enright to punish Rock City down low and Kane Poehlman to have a monster game from behind the arc for Sons of Basketball in a big win.

Sons of Basketball 98 – Rock City 58

9:00 p.m. – Running Rebels (4-2) vs. Dat Aint Fair (6-0)
This is a different Running Rebels team in week 7 than the one that Dat Aint Fair faced in week 2. Since then the Rebels have ran off 4 consecutive victories but so has DAF. Until DAF loses, I’m not picking against them, however, the team playing the second best basketball in the league will be GM Rashodd Ross’ Running Rebels on Thursday night.

Dat Aint Fair 81 – Running Rebels 75
