COMMERCE OPEN: Power Rankings | Sons of Basketball GM out for season

Dat Aint Fair is the undisputed #1 seed heading into week 5. C4 is secure at #2, however, there is serious competition at the #3 through #5 seeds fighting for 2 playoff spots in the second half of the season.

1) Dat Aint Fair (4-0) – DAF got a huge win over C4 which makes them the overwhelming favorite to enter the playoffs as the #1 seed. Despite being out-rebounded 40-23 by C4, DAF was able to knock down 12 3 pointers in route to the 6-pt win. They have a tough match-up this week as they play the biggest team in the league, Sons of Basketball, and will have to have another solid shooting performance to move to 5-0.

2) C4 (3-1) – C4 man handled Dat Aint Fair on the boards in week 4, but only made 6 3 pters in their week 4 loss, an uncharacteristically low amount for a team which usually lights up the nets from distance. They are still secured into the #2 power ranking spot though and should be favored in every regular season game from here on out.

3) Running Rebels (2-2) – The Rebels are coming off of consecutive W’s over Squad and Rock City to finish the 1st half of the season at .500. In week 5, they have a chance to move up the standings and the power rankings if they can defeat C4. Star player Steven Reynolds debuted in week 4 and was all smiles putting up a cool 27 pts and 10 reb.

4) Squad (1-3) – Squad jumps into the #4 spot in the rankings after a convincing win over Sons of Basketball in week 4. They also will be favored heavily in week 5 against Rock City in a game that should be a chemistry builder for this young team. The athleticism of this young team should be on display against Rock City, who has struggled to stop teams in transition all season long.

5) Sons of Basketball (2-2) – A 2 game losing streak drops Sons of Basketball all the way to #5 in the power rankings and they may be on the outside of the playoff race if they cannot pick up a week 5 win over #1 Dat Aint Fair, a game where they are heavy underdogs. The inside tandem of Joel Simpson and Daniel Enright continues to give teams problems inside, however, Sons of Basketball is going to need to find a consistent outside threat during the absence of Darius Statum if they are going to grab the 4th playoff spot.

6) Rock City (0-4) – Rock City continues to struggle defensively, giving up over 108 points per game. On the bright side, they have scored more points in each week of the season, culminating in a season high of 77 last week v. the Running Rebels in a 109-77 defeat. If they can figure out some type of defensive scheme, they have enough balanced scoring to pull off an upset in the second half the season.
