COMMERCE REC: It all comes down to this | Which team will take which spot

Domonique Washington drives past Julius Barnett for the two-points

The defending champions Sons Of Basketball looks like the wheels are falling off one by one. They were the favorite to repeat this season, but after dropping 2 of their last 3 games the team doesn’t look to be in tune with each other like they were in past seasons. They need to win their last game of the season just to make it to the 3rd or 4th seed and keep their chances of repeating alive. They are currently in 3rd place with a record of 4-3.

C4 are still winning games. They are currently 6-1 and has been the best team all season. They’ve already locked up a 1st round bye for the playoffs. Justin Dabish has been the biggest spark for the team all season. He’s either been their best player or 2nd best player all season long. In his last game he tallied a career high 51 points. Not only did he drop 51, but he did it in a very efficient way in shooting 75% from 3 point range and 75% from the field. If he keeps that up along with the other weapons they have, C4 could be headed to another championship.

The Weekend Warriors were looking like a possible championship team after acquiring Domonique Washington from Hit Squad. But since his arrival the team is 0-2. And in the last game they lost by 24 points. That’s not something you want to see from a championship contending team. They have 1 more week before the playoffs to turn things around, as they are currently in 4th place.

GM Devante Pennyman is starting to look more and more like Pat Riley after picking up Desmond Sain and Derrick Foster. Since those acquisitions the team is 3-0 and starting to look like the championship team he expected them to be coming into the season. Hit Squad were literally hitting on all cylinders in their last, going 18-37 from deep as a team. They also had 5 players in double figures. If they can keep this up and continue to lock in on defense they could shock the league and win the championship. They are currently in 2nd place, and are the hottest team in the league right now.

The Running Rebels are peaking through a small crack of the window right now looking for a chance to get into the playoffs. Depending on what teams win or lose in week 8 of the season, determines whether they make it to the playoffs. They’re 3-4 right now and are in 5th place looing from the outside. But things can change at a drop of a hat in this league. So if they take care of business and win their last game of the season and other teams lose, they’ll be right back in the playoff race!
