ATLANTA, GA: Preview Week 8 | Peaking leading into the playoffs

Mumford Returns vs. Known Shooters 7pm

When these two teams played against each other in week 5 there were ejections, technical fouls and a lot of trash talking. One player stated that, “ he was the best in this league” while another player told everyone he made “200K per year.” Emotions were running high and neither one of these teams care too much for one another. The matchup I am looking forward to is Chris Anderson and Ashley “200 K” Olinger. These two stars were battling in there last match up but Anderson got the best of the matchup. A. Olinger takes a lot of pride in his game and I am sure will take it to Anderson in this second matchup. Mumford Returns is playing for a lot in this game. If they win, they guarantee a second seed in the standing and a first round bye. With that being said I feel that Mumford Returns will be on Red Bull, Monster or even 5-hr energy drink for this game. In order for that to happen I expect a big production out of Ryan “Mid-Range” Mumford who plays in the shadows of Anderson and Gates but will toucher you if you forget about him. R.Mumford has a high basketball I.Q. and can hit down the open shot with ease. If you sleep on this guy he will light you up for at least 15 points. For Known Shooters, I keep hearing from this team that they are just waiting until the playoffs because it’s a new season. Even though this may be true, I am not a believer in this team. This team does not play defense nor are they mentally strong to play a full 44 minutes of basketball. I have said it multiple times, this team looks “A-1 Steak Sauce” on paper but cannot produce that talent on the court. For this team to win I am calling out Ashley “200K” Olinger, Travis “3 AM” Nelson as well as Micheal “I Need Barlow” Griffin. Can you 3 stars step up to the plate and get a win this season? Can you play the game for a full 44mins and not blame the refs for your lack of defense? Can you all play like your capable of and stop with the excuses and mediocre play? I believe you can but the rest of league thinks you are a joke.

Prediction: Known Shooters by 15

Enough Said vs Gawd Squad 8pm

Emotions were extremely high when these two teams played each other in Week 4 of the season. Enough Said is still upset with trader Frankie “Sharp Shooter” Ghouchani for leaving there championship team. Mental games have been played between Prince Kearney and Frankie and they still continue. Rumor has it that Prince Kearney feels that Frankie is jail bate with Gawd Squad and is limited to his capability. Reporters recently reached out to Prince Kearney and he stated, “ you can tell Frankie when he was with Enough Said he was eating Filet Mignon now he is eating from the $1 menu, maybe he likes cheap food but we eat good over here. #Free Franky” Enough Said has already capitalize the bye week of the playoffs and this game is strictly pride for them. But with Gawd Squad they need this win and for Mumford Returns to lose in order to receive a bye week in the first round of the playoffs. Gawd Squad has been playing at peak level the past few weeks and with Mike “I Wear Running Shoes” McCarthy shooting lights out. This team is running on all cylinders as of late and they seem to finally get there chemistry together. Emotions will be running high and I am sure Frankie will not let Enough Said beat him twice in a season. This will be a game to watch.

Team Follies/Late Starters vs. Free Agents 9pm

Last week I called out Andrew Brown and stated that in order for your team to have a chance, you would need to step up to the plate with your production. By the looks of it, your production did not cut it in order for your team to win. Andrew Brown can you step up to the plate and get your team a win against Team Follies/Late Starters? Brown can easily dominate this league but has yet to illustrate it. One player off of the Free Agents Team who has been producing night in and night out is Mike “Top Golf” Turner. Turner is leading his team in points, rebounds, as well as assists. Turner has a solid game and will take it to any player in this league. He can hit the outside shot as well as take you off the dribble. I like this guys game and he would be a beast on any other halfway decent team. But the question remains, can Turner make his teammates better to produce a win? In the game of basketball it does not matter how much you produce, if your team is still losing your working for Free. The Free Agents have yet to play the season for a full 44 minutes of basketball. If this team plays defense and let the offense come to them, then they could be dangerous. With Team Follies/ Late Starters, this is what I call my “Roller Coaster” team. At one point of the season, this team was on a two game winning streak and feeling truly confident. But with the up and down emotions/loses this team doesn’t seem to have it all together. This team is unbeatable when Andre “0-100 Real Quick” Carter is on the court. When he is on the court this team creates matchup problems as well as plays with a higher intensity. But with Carter nursing a nagging injury, this team does not seem to be producing like they once were. This team needs to come with the intensity and just get mad. Maybe if I talk about somebody “Momma” then this team will wake up and play solid basketball. But with Team Follies/Late Starters losing to Mumford Returns last week, I am not sure what team will show up tonight.
