Do we have our first UH celebrity confirmed for the Red Carpet? Rumors are circulating out of Minnesota that On The Bench with Young Love podcast star and UH player Quincy Young may be making the trip to Chicago Aug. 13-14.

Details are still sketchy if Young will participate as a player in the tourney and/or if it's media related. A Joe Neuenfeldt/Young Love super broadcast team, perhaps?

Representatives for Young were not immediately returning phone calls.

Columbia Maryland spring season champion Knicks have booked the reservation in the Ultimate Hoops Invitational Tournament to be held in Chicago Aug 13-14. Spots are filling up quickly and with only 5days remaining to register the field is beginning to fill up.

The Knicks are a very impressive franchise as they have yet lose in Ultimate hoops play. They finished the spring season as club champions with a 10-0 record and are won there first summer season game last week. The Knicks pride themselves on great defensive play as they finished the spring season only allowing 44points a contest. There two forwards Kenny Zeigler and Derek Chappell are the clubs leading scorers, but the team can find offense from a variety of different sources.

This is shaping up to be the greatest event in Ultimate Hoops history as team from all over are starting to punch there tickets. There are a lot of rumors circulating who will be the next team to officially make arrangements. Will it be JC Hoops from Overland Park or maybe Brooklyns Finest from just outside the DC area. Stay tuned for the latest updates.

At least one team from the Ultimate Hoops Dallas Region will be represented at the tournament. Prayer Tower from the Mansfield Ultimate Hoops League have confirmed with Tournament Coordinator Pat Keller they will be traveling to Chicago to participate in the tournament.

Prayer Tower won the Spring Season 2011 Mansfield Championship, finishing the season with a 7-3 record. They feature superstar 6'5" forward Roger Eiland who averaged 25.4 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

While there will be plenty of action on the court, Ultimate Hoops is preparing just as much action off the court. UHTV announced tournament festivities early Saturday morning. UHTV is excited to roll out the red carpet (literally) for the tournament players.

6:00- Tournament Selection Show presented and hosted by Buffalo Wild Wings in Naperville, IL

- Tournament drawings will be announced teams will find out there game times and first round match-ups
- Live streaming video of selection process via UHTV.
- Player and team interviews
- Food and drink specials

Saturday, Aug 13, 2011

7:00- Tourney registration will open (each player will receive a T-shirt for participating)
8:00- Opening ceremonies(live DJ on hand)
8:15- Double elimination tournament play will begin.
6:30- Final game of first day scheduled

8:00pm Ultimate Hoops VIP Red Carpet party hosted by Black Finn in downtown Naperville

- Full red carpet event. UH PAPARAZZI expected to be on hand snapping photos.
- UHTV conducting player interviews
- Tournament video and highlights streaming during event
- Free appetizers
- Drink specials

Ultimate Hoops Regional Coordinator Pat Keller announced on Friday that the 2nd Ultimate Hoops Invitational Tournament will be held at the Warrenville Life Time Fitness on August 13th & 14th.

All Spring Season 2011 Ultimate Hoops League champions from across the UH Nation are encouraged to attend to determine who is the best UH league team in the nation for Spring Season 2011. In the 1st Ultimate Hoops Invitational Tournament played in March, the Rockets from the Bloomington South Ultimate Hoops League in Minnesota won the tournament.

The 16-team tournament will be double elimination and cost is $100 per team. Teams are encouraged to find sponsors for their entry fee. Deadline to sign up is July 29, 2011.
