SHELBY REC: Power Rankings | Golbins & Skillz on top | Y-Lie reboots with new additions

1. House Of Skillz (2-0) The additions of Val Juncaj, adding to Watson and Perkovic, this team has became a rebounding machine. They also are great defensively as they are ranked 1st in points allowed. They are off to a great start with last season’s MVP Vaughan Gray still playing great leading them in scoring with 27 points a game.

2. Goblins (2-0) Goblins look very strong in their first two performances. 3rd in points 2nd in points allowed, and the big reason they are winning games is being 1st in assists. Moving the ball really well, this team has players who understand the game of basketball. Jeff Wertz has returned to Rec league and has been outstanding so far averaging 27 points a game. Aston Sokolnicki has been great as well, leading the team in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

3. Performance Fiberglass (1-1) Tough loss this past Wednesday against House of Skillz, the defending champions is still one of the top teams in the league. They are ranked 1st in steals, averaging almost 11 a game. Their rebound will need to improve though if they want to win these close games. Evan Wilson has been the bright spot for this team so far averaging 21 points a game.

4. Y-Lie (1-1) Y-Lie in week 1 didn’t have a great start, but this week, adding Sam Hines and Chris Hines, helps this team greatly. David Stephens has been a workforce so far, scoring 23 points a game. Nick Kosovich also has been another great asset for this Y-Lie squad. I’m eager to see them next week, and to see how they will continue as the season moves along.

5. Dynasty (0-2) the first week was didn’t look good, this past week, they lost a close game and looked a lot better as a group. They have been still disappointing. They are ranked dead last in scoring, and will need to get their groove back like they had last season. Jamier Mix leads them in points, rebounds, and assists. He looked really good this past Wednesday, and will need to be more involved.

6. DreamCHASERS (1-0) Look very good in their first game. Jonathan Combs returns to Ultimate Hoops scoring 29 points in their victory. Nike Koki had a solid game as well. This team is ranked 1st in points allowed and 2nd in rebounds. It was only their first game but I liked what I saw from this group of guys.

7. Lakeshow (0-1) They lost a tough close game. They are still a solid team, with a lot of promise. Jacob Warwinsky is the bright spot for this team with 25 points and 8 rebounds in his first game; he is a player that I see being a problem for The Lake show’s opponents.

8. Blue Chips 2.0 (0-2) Jerome Barnes is still their best player in the first two weeks, but this team is ranked dead last in points allowed. They need to work on their defense. Hopefully Mike Meinhardt can take some of pressure of the other guys, to bring the ball up, and hopefully get this offense moving.
