SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 6 Preview | Brandon Bell Goes Super Saiyan

Dylan Armstrong (LOCKDOWN) leads the charge and has his team playing their best ball of the season

SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Aaron Braude's Week 6 Predictions

Yeah. Old news. Two days ago. I get it. But when anyone in the league drops 71 on the hardwood, they deserve more than a few days of fame. Monster game, dawg. Congratulations on the record! Week 6 has a lot of good match ups. We've gotta handful of teams scrapping for that top seed, and we've got a handful of teams doggy paddling in shark infested waters. I, for one, doggy paddle like an effin' champion, so I hope the rest of you girls brought your floatiez.

TimeLifers vs Twisted Steel

This is an interesting one. For multiple seasons, I feel like these teams have been neck and neck in consistency and veteran leadership. Regardless of the match up, they always ended up getting it done, taking big teams by surprise and dominating little teams with assurance. This season, the scale has totally ripped. TimeLifers are still solid, but they're a shell of their former self. They manage to stay in most games, and win a few, but their lack in star power keeps them from tackling large opponents. Twisted Steel, on the other hand, is running rampant through the league. After a thrilling game winner against Splash Brothers, Youngin' Brandon Hoffer is a vastly underrated force to be reckoned with. Tap that off with Tyrone Jones' coaching ability, and TJ could be breeding one of the strongest young guards we've seen enter the league within the last year. Tough match up for TimeLifers as they have no one to stay in front of Hoffer.

X Over vs SuperSonics

It probably confuses everyone when I write in third person for my specific team (Aaron Braude, SuperSonics) preview, huh? Hahaha. My bad. This season has been a different kind of frustrating than I've experienced before. And Lord knows this league has ground my gears before. This season is frustrating because I truly feel like we have one of the best "Non Celebrity Supported" teams we've had thus far. We're still very new to each other, so I'm blaming chemistry. But as the weeks go on, I'm starting to lose that crutch. Shiiiiid. Moving on, X Over is still pushing strong. Chris Fisher has finally set a roster in stone and it's pretty nice. From the looks of it, some chemistry might be needed, but for the most part, they rock with the same guys so they'll be fine come playoffs. SuperSonics NEED to play team defense if they want to compete tonight, or any other night. They've played, and lost, to all the low seeded teams. Now they have to walk through the fire completely unscathed if they wish to push anywhere into the playoffs.
Chris Fisher is a schoolgirl.

We Dem Boyz vs Ball So Hard

After a 71 point game, I have no doubt that Brandon Bell is feeling himself. Who wouldn't? The question is, does he come to Scottsdale and repeat it? No. That was like a rainbow colored solar eclipse. Dude is legit talented, but all the right stars have to be aligned. He went up against Tempe FA, and he's responsible for legitimately 50% of his team's points in Tempe. Whereas in Scottsdale, BSH has much more of a complete and team orientated slaughter wheel. Not to mention Nate Sanders will probably lock him up. Or attempt to. I'm not sure which way this will go. I do know however, the BSH isn't short on scorers and that not everyone on WDB plays hardcore on ball defense like Nate Sanders does.

20 or Better vs LockDown

2OB is still looking really strong heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Week 6 brings them a new kind of opponent. The UnderDog. LockDown has a solid squad of guards and athletic wings that rely on you underestimating them. However, I don't think that will be an issue for 2OB. After all, one of their dudes was like, in the league, right? For a few years? I think someone was saying something about that. Ask him if he can bring some more of those mother loving league balls.

****Also, as we all know, the power of prayer is miraculously strong. As irrelevant as this is to my league previews, a buddy of mine who does not participate in the league was in a severe motorcycle accident yesterday and is currently on life support. If anybody wishes to offer up a silent prayer for a good friend, and a better guy, please do so, and know that your love and thoughts are very much appreciated. Thank you tenfolds.
