SHELBY REC: House Of Skillz Win In Double OT Thriller | Mountain Moon Shooters Get First Win

Week 3 is in the books, and Performance Fiber Glass, again dominated another young squad. Marcas Anderson had another outstanding performance with 25 Points, 11 boards and 6 blocks. The man continues to play solid week after week. Bill Treece was also putting his signature on this game with 35 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Golfin and Sawinksi as well put in 42 points combined in this game. MonStars now face a tough situation, the only win-less team so far through three weeks. Anthony Agents had 25 points leading the Monstars, but really no bright things to come out of this game for them, as they couldn’t budge Performance at all this game.

Walk-Ons and House of Skillz faced off in a classic game in my eyes. It was a thriller all around. House of Skillz had a big lead throughout the game, but it was the Walk-On who couldn’t get anything going in the first half. They started off 2-14 from the three, finishing 12-30 off the game. The game went into double over-time after regulation couldn’t settle this one. Steven Youanis for Walk-Ons was solid, with 23 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals. For House of Skillz it was Adam Kaminksi again, with a big performance with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Vaughn Gray also game out with 23 points, 8 rebounds, with 5 assists as well in this victory. The Walk-Ons showed that they can play with the big teams in this league, and make a serious run this season, as they fell short to reaching the championship game last season.

Y-Lie and All or Nothing squared off in our later games. This was a game that I though Y-Lie need to win. David Stephens returned as he had a solid game with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Johnnie Brown also had 17 points and couple of blocks as well. Tyrone Jordan was a non-factor this game, 8 points, 3 assists, and 4 turnovers. The Point Guard from Y-Lie raises concerns of his inconsistency. One week playing great the other week, not so well. Another non-factor was Dominic Dunlap, guy that can put up some scoring numbers with his shooting range, and the way he can get to the basket. Dunlap finished with only 6 points. For All or Nothing, Edin Muhtarevic led his team with 23 points and 16 rebounds. A great performance from him. All Or Nothing our now 2-1 , as Y-Lie starts the season off 1-2, out of the 6th and final playoff spot for now.

Our last game of the night, was a special game for one team. Mountain Moon Shooters, after losing all 8 games last season, finally get their first win this season against Bad Intentions. Timothy Gore and Bruno Kalaj both put 18 points apiece in their victory. The team despite shooting poorly, they came together in the second half as this game was very close until the end. Mountain Moon Shooter also rebounded very well, as a team getting 45 rebounds in their victory. For Bad Intentions it’s another tough loss to swallow, after losing a close one as well last week. The team only lose by four, but 4-11 from the free throw line, and giving 18 offensive boards, doesn’t quite help you win these close battles they have played the last few weeks. Bad Intentions despite being 1-2 of the season, feel like they should be 3-0, or at least 2-1. They are still a tough team to play, and the veteran group will put this 2 game skid behind them and come out and play for a W next week. For Mountain Moon Shooters, this win is nice, but still have a lot more work to do to stay in the playoff race, they play Monstars next week who are 0-3.
