SHELBY VET: BACK-TO-BACK | Nets Cruise By Performance Fiber Glass In Final

Nets were a bottom of the barrel type team in recent years. Never really having any success in the veterans’ league. Dequan Wilson has created something special these past few seasons winning back to back championships. It was a close first half in today’s championship game. Both teams started of slow, but eventually picked up the tempo as it was only a two point lead for the Nets at the half against Performance. The second half, seemed like a much different Performance team, nothing was really going their way. Turnovers and missed opportunities really hurt Performance. Bill Treece who has been averaging 24 points a game, ended up with 17, and only shooting 2-7 from the three. Jason Sawinski contributed 13, and Anthony Muscat with also 17 points. It wasn’t enough, as Nets started to Pull away big in the second half. The Nets were excellent from the charity stripe, going 16-18. Vaughn Gray led the way with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists giving the Nets a 2nd straight championship.
