SHELBY VET: Nets Improve to 3-0| Lakers Dig Themselves In a Hole Early

Detroit Pistons vs Brooklyn Nets

Going into the game today, everyone knew it was going to be a good game, with the UH rivalry that was matched up; Vaughan Gray and Mckinsey Golfin. To start the game off, the Pistons were playing there game at there tempo. Pick and rolls, back door layups, three balls, etc was going in. They seemed to have the Nets number. But what they failed to realize that the game consists of two halves. At the half, Pistons were in control of the game and up 4 points. Both teams had key players in foul trouble but the Pistons Mckinsey Golfin had three at the half. Coming out of halftime, the Nets decided to speed the tempo of the game up. Vaughan Gray had a tremendous second half ending the game with 25 points and 9 assist. Michael Harrington played a big role today scoring 20 points, and Johnnie Brown adding 17. For the Pistons, Mckinsey Golfin had a game high 28 points 6 rebounds, Keith Hadi assisted him with 15 points and Shawn Swanson chipped in with 9. What's amazing is both teams shot over 50% from both the field and three point line. But what was also brought to the forefront was Mckinsey Golfin fouling out of his first UH game ever. How did this happen? Question is: Is Mckinsey becoming a liability on defense or was this just a onetime thing? Only time will tell. Stay tuned!

Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls

Well Chicago continued with there recipe for a championship run by beating the Miami Heat by a large margin. Jeff Wertz led all players with 24 points, Mike Mckee assisted him with 12 points and Brandon Boyle with 11. DeAndre Contrell and the Miami Heat were missing a key player with Rodrick Stevenson. Contrell led his team with 18 points and James Perry chipped in with 12. Miami has yet to get there first win. We will keep our eyes on them in the up and coming weeks.

Performance vs LA Lakers

This game was close at the half 45-41 with LA trailing by four. Performance then put there foot on a petal, obviously not the brakes. All five starters scored in double figures for Performance. Jason Sawinski (2nd-UH history in scoring) showed why by displaying a great game leading all players with 30 points and also grabbing 10 rebounds. Anthony Muscat scored 22 and Jovaughn Wilson ended with 21. Lakers were led by team captain Todd Lueck with 28 points and Lawrence Bienkowski with 20 respectively.
