COMMERCE, MI REC: Can Hit Squad Repeat What They Accomplished Last Season

Coming off the team’s first championship in 6 seasons, Hit Squad is looking to defend their championship. GM Devante Pennyman lost 3 players from his championship team. Two of those players were unable to return for this season, and the other player decided to leave the team and play with his cousin’s team. Even with the team losing those players, they have added veteran guard David Jackson and rookie sharp shooter Brandon Krause.

Elite Hit Squad only has a 6 man roster this season, which is something that they prefer. There will be more added pressure on wing players Jordan Jefferson and Ryan Matthews to step their defensive game up this season, since the team lost 2 of their best defenders. In their first game this season, the two forwards combined for 33 points and 26 rebounds. The team as a whole only had 8 assists which could be an issue with the ball not moving later on in the season. In the second game of the season they took a loss to the rebuilt Sons of Basketball, but they were missing their big man Ryan Matthews. But, this is only their first two games and they have another 6 games to figure out their new team.

After winning the championship on last season, from that day Hit Squad has said they plan on repeating. Anything less to them will be a disappointment, but they are all very confident coming into the season. The target is now on their back as defending champs, let’s see how they can handle every teams best shot this season as they begin their title defense.
