SHELBY VET: Johnnie Brown Shines In Debut | Jason Sawinksi Moves To 2nd In All-Time Scoring

Bulls and Lakers squared off early Saturday Morning. Jeff Wertz led the action with 21 points, he exited with 3 minutes left in the game with an ankle injury, but it didn’t matter as the Bulls win. He seemed to walk fine and should be alright. Brandon Boyle behind Wertz with 15 points, and Evan Wilson with 16 points, Lakers find themselves in a hole down 0-2 so far this season. Lawrence Bienkowski struggled in this one shooting .23 percent from the field only with 11 points. Rob Jabara also struggled getting it going offensively in this one. Again Lakers settled for the three point shot, shooting 31 attempts and only making 9 threes. Live by the jump shot, you will also die by it.

Congratulations to Jason Sawinski moving to second behind Mckinsey Golfin in the all time scoring list at Ultimate Hoops. It was spoiled though by the Mckinsey Golfin and the Pistons starve off Performance Fiber Glass. Golfin had to carry to load today, scoring 31 points, shooting the ball extremely well. Darrius Summers also contributed in the second half and scored 11 points. Jason Sawinksi only need 13 points, but ended up with 17 points today, Jovaughan Wilson had 20 points and 11 boards in their loss.

Johnnie Brown and David Stephens make their Veterans League debut, both coming from Y-Lie to join forces with Vaughn Gray and Dequan Wilson to win another title. Johnnie Brown had a marvelous debut, with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. Dave Stephens also shouldn’t go unnoticed scoring 14 points with 7 rebounds and 1 block. Vaughn Gray also joined the fun with 22 points and 10 assists. Heat looked good in the first half, but couldn’t slow down the Nets at all. Rodrick Stevenson had a great game for the Heat with 29 points and 7 boards but still not well enough for the Heat who fall 0-2 this season.
