Chicago's Sonics have style and substance on the Ultimate Hoops court in Bloomingdale [video]

Chicago, IL - With a record 15 teams in the Bloomingdale Ultimate Hoops League in Chicago for Spring Season, teams are fighting for media and fan attention sitting court side at games and in the press room afterwards.

The Sonics look to be making an impact both in style and substance this season. After defeating Kryptonite 80-72 this week, the Sonics improved to 2-1 on the season and are in a five-way tie for second place in the standings.

Gordon Applewhite had a season-high 31 points for Sonics and finished 3rd in PPR for the night with a 29.4 rating. Guard Steve Kollar added 11 points and and 10 assists in the win. Kollar currently leads the Bloomingdale league in assists with 9.0 per game.

For style, the Sonics are earning big fashion points with their sick matching yellow uniforms with numbers on front and back. (You can hear the UH statisticians saying a collective 'Thank You' to the numbers on front and back).
