SHELBY REC: Vaughn Gray's Triple-Double in Rout Vs. Y-Lie| Bad Intentions Edge Mountain Moon Shooters

Y-Lie was brought to reality after their dominating victory last week, only to be defeated by House of Skillz by 18 points this week. Leading the way was Vaughn Gray getting a triple double against Y-Lie with 24 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. His Companion Brian Olley had 20 points himself, but also was a factor down low with 3 blocks on Y-Lie. This Duo in Vaughn Gray and Brian Olley is a thing of beauty, they play together, and create plays for each other, and with a well supporting cast around these two athletes, Skillz as the defending champs are making a statement, the road to the championship is through them.

FINAL

Another hard loss for the Walk-Ons as they compete with an experience Performance Fiber Glass team. Before I get to Performance, the Walk-Ons proved, despite their loss, they can play with the big boys. It was a close game, throughout, with Sully Youanis leading the team with 27 points. Jonathan Combs had 19 points behind him. Walk-Ons were leading at one point in the second half, but the experience, and veteran skill of Performance proved too much for the Walk-Ons to build off that lead. Mckinsey Golfin had another great performance with 30 points, 13 boards, and 7 assists leading his team. Jason Sawinksi had 19 points, as he closes in at the second spot of the all-time scoring list in Ultimate Hoops. Treece put in 18 points, Evan Wilson with 20, and Val Juncaj still battling a cold, came through with the hustle and aggressiveness to get this victory against the young squad.

Performance- 89
Walk-Ons- 76

FINAL

Bad Intentions faced off with Mountain Moon Shooters in a scrappy hard fought game throughout. Mountain Moon Shooters after huge loss last week, came into this week with the intentions to prove to the other teams, they aren’t that easy to put down. Tony Nuculaj and Bruno Kalaj led the team with a combine of 33 points. They also out rebounded Bad Intentions, and gave up less turnovers with 7 to Intentions 10. They improved and played much better, but shot poorly once again. Shooting a .35 percent from the field, and .17 percent from three. Bad Intentions scored a lot inside the paint, and one of those reasons was Bill Tull. Bill Tull had a solid game, with 18 points, on .69 percent shooting, an also grabbing 10 boards. Jeff Wertz also improved from last week with 15 points, and getting 3 blocks as well. Bad Intentions survive though and get their first win this season.

Mountain Moon Shooters- 50
