COMMERCE, MI PREP: Can Team Jacob Pull It Off Without Their Captain
Jacob Hailo and Joey Denha Waiting To Get The Rebound
On a basketball team each team has a leader. The leader is the one who the team relies on when they need to score or when they are falling apart. It is always hard losing a teammate late in the season especially one who is the best player in the league. Team Jacob has lost their GM who was a MVP nominee Jacob Hailo, but hopefully he can still be a leader and guide his team to a championship while he is off the court. Team Jacob has always been a team atop the rankings for the past few seasons, but this season has been a roller coaster ride as they have been up and down the standings all season. But their captain Jacob Hailo has had a stellar second half of the season to put his team back in contention for this seasons championship. But with Jacob now heading off to school do they still have a shot at winning this seasons title?
With one week left in the regular season and no team clinched Team Jacob will have to beat a very hungry Team Joey to clinch playoff berth. In their first contest without Jacob they were able to keep their winning streak alive edging out Team Billy 60-56. With the departure of their captain they still looked like a strong team as they were able to beat the number one team in the league.
There's no doubt that Jacob was one of the best players in our league. The responsibility of leading this team now falls on Anthony Qarana. If this team is able to win, it will be because he lead them. If they lose on the other hand, it will be because he failed them. Can anthony lead his squad to another title without Jacob?
