COMMERCE, MI 14U: Prep Veterans Coach Younger Prep Players
Nathan Kenaya & Michael Dallo During The Free Throw Shots
One way to be a great player in the game is to have the right coach. So for this season of Ultimate Hoops first ever 14 & Under Prep League a new spin was put on the league. Every young player needs a mentor to help improve their game and what better mentors then the old Prep players that the 14 and under kids look up to. Each team is being led by a player that has dominated in previous years.
The idea was to make sure the young players are making the correct plays and substitutions during the game but will this new format be successful? The younger generation may find it difficult to take the tutelage from someone so close in age. The coaches are sometimes itching to get in the game to show their team exactly what they are looking for out of them. The new format has a buzz around it, something different and unique that could really take the league over the top. Many of the players need the guidance and knowledge from older mature players such as Rami Shamo, Anthony Qarana, and Josh Isso just to name a few.
The coaches are just as competitive on the sidelines as the players on the court. They all want to be known as the mastermind that led their players to a championship, the Phil Jackson of the preps league. Which coach will adapt the best to their new role and mold the young minds into the ball players they are destined to be?
