SHELBY |TOP FLIGHT: Magnolia's Finest & Skillz Make Statements On Opening Night | The Truth Still Win after Maynard Ejected

Top Flight makes its return to Shelby, with the top players, the top teams, the top rivalries. The first night is in the books, with Magnolia’s Finest faced off with YLie to start the season. YLie defeated Magnolia’s Finest last season ending their winning streak at thirteen. Magnolia’s Finest didn’t let up, as they took it too YLie in the second half, pulling away in the 3rd quarter. John Sinishtaj the winter season MVP caught fire in the second half, hitting behind the arc. Three after three to pull away from the Recreational Spring Champions YLie. John Sinishtaj finished the game with 20 points, along with Charles Davis's 21 points, and Frank Gojcaj's 14 points and 17 rebounds.

Final

The Truth just edge white out, after losing Drew Maynard due to ejection after receiving two technical fouls, The Truth manage to hold on , and get past White Out. DaShuan Wood led the team with 19 points along Drew Maynard who pitched in with 18 points. The Truth had 12 steals as a team, taking advantage of the turnovers by White Out. Brent Witchner with some deep threes late in the game creep up on The Truth but wasn’t enough to get the win.

It was all Skillz in the final game, as they came out the games running leading the whole game. Sam Mauldin makes his debut in the Ultimate Hoops league, as he scored 25 points and 12 rebounds. Blake Cushingberry also makes his return to Ultimate Hoops as he had 22 points on .60 percent shooting. Performance Fiber Glass couldn’t get it going, seemed like shot after shot miss, after miss. They couldn’t get consistent scoring from the team as a whole. They seemed out of sync Monday night, looking to get it back together next week.
