SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Week 2 Preview | Will X-Over and Phx Ballas Bounce Back?

Week 1 is officially in the books and with 2 more teams set to begin play this week we now have 10 teams in the league. A couple of former Scottsdale Power Houses Team Phx Ballas and Team X-Over both went down opening week. Do we have a changing of the guard? Or will they bounce back? Time will tell but one thing we know is this isn’t the same 4-6 team league in Scottsdale anymore…

WEEK 2 PREDICTIONS

SCOTTSDALE FA VS PINK CANOES 630PM:
This game might turn out to be the ugliest game of the year with #1 ranked Pink Canoes set to face off with the last ranked team in the league. The return of Lance Williams this week to the backcourt will make the Pink Canoes even stronger and harder to beat. Hopefully the Scottsdale FA team will show some heart and make me eat my words but I just don’t see that happening this week. The Pink Canoes have too much size and talent to lose this week.
PREDICTION: Pink Canoes by 21

COBRA KAI VS PHX BALLAS 730PM:
Cobra Kai was on bye last week so we don’t know enough about the team to make an accurate prediction. But what we do know is Phx Ballas will be hungry coming off an embarrassing lost to their rivals Pink Canoes last week. The Phx Ballas have a lot of veteran talent and I have no doubt they will come ready this week. Star forward Tyrone Jones will not let his team fall to 0-2. Looking forward to seeing Cobra Kai making their debut this week.
PREDICTION: Phx Ballas by 16

TIMELIFERS VS SUPERSONICS 730PM:
This game might just turn out to be the Game of the Week as both teams are pretty evenly matched. The Supersonics ranked #3 in the league and with the Timelifers ranked #5, I predict this game to go down to the wire. Supersonic forwards Kyle Hansen and Lee Andari have shown the ability to be able to carry this team. The Timelifers have 5 guys that can score in double figures and looks to be one of the most balanced teams in the league. I really have to just flip a coin on this one as I can see this game going either way.
PREDICTION: Supersonics by 1

SPLASH BROTHERS VS PILLSBURY BBOYS 830PM:
The Splash Brothers have become the most explosive and exciting team in the league with their hot shooting and athleticism. They are arguably the #1 team in the league depending who you ask. The Pillsbury BBoys have a great group of guys that all compete very hard but I just don’t think they will have enough firepower to stay with the Splash Brothers this week. Their dynamic backcourt of Michael Bizoukas and Klayton Kristick will be very fun to watch but their lack of size in the front court might be their Achilles heal this season. The Splash Brothers go 7 deep and should not have a problem getting a W this week.
PREDICTION: Splash Brothers by 18

X-OVER VS TEAM TO BEAT 830PM:
Team X-Over are coming off an embarrassing lost last week to the Splash Brothers. Have the time off away from the league affected them? Have they lost a step or will they return back to their dominating ways? Time will tell but it won’t be much easier this week as they get the very talented team from Tempe this week. Donald Didlake and Joe Hormes will form one of the top backcourts in the league this season and with bigs Josh Hunter and Brad Carroll manning the paint they really do look like the “Team to Beat”. Hopefully Brandon Walker will be able to suit up this week to provide XOver some much needed outside scoring. Fred "the Freak" Dudley is a superstar no doubt but he’s going to need some help if Team X-Over plans on getting anywhere this season.
