SHELBY REC: Weekly Recap| Andrew Rizzi's Late Spark Edges Performance Fiber Glass | Bill Treece Shutdown In Loss

Andrew Rizzi and Vaughn Gray

Magnolia’s Finest was without Frank Gojcaj last night, but it didn't matter, as Magnolia’s Finest turned it up in the second half, to cruise by Tune Squad. Antonio Harden and John Sinishtaj shined as they both combined for 47 points in their win. Magnolia’s Finest shot .62 percent from the field, with a strong defensive performance with 8 blocks and 3 blocks. Tune Squad had a good game, but couldn't knocked down their shots, only shooting .42 percent from the field. Joe Pllumbaj continues his defensive player of the year campaign with another 4 steals. Yet, the defending champs were too much for Tune Squad has they win 78-58.

YLie cruised by the Wildcats with a dominating victory 96-82. Drew Maynard scored 44 points, as he adds another great game to his great season. Drew Maynard is averaging 30.5 points a game, and grabbing 11.7 boards a game as well, as he is one more week away of securing a possible MVP award this season. YLie remains undefeated in hopes to retaining the title they once held last spring.

Andrew Rizzi’s late burst helps House of Skillz hold of Performance Fiber Glass. Jason Sawinksi and Mckinsey Golfin, combined for 48 points, but their supporting cast, not so much. Bill Treece only had 5 points, a very un-characteristic performance from him tonight, as he gets his career low in points in a game. Sources say that before tip-off, Bill Treece was told he was going to be locked up by House of Skillz Derak Warren, with Facebook buzzing with hype earlier that day about the game from both teams. Bill Treece was 1-9 shooting only .11 percent from the field. House of Skills survives this one late, 70-68.

Eleven 23 Finish their Spring Season losing to the Infantry. Tyree Franklin and Jerome Barnes stood their ground played well, but John Anderson and Jason Farr took the infantry all the way in this victory winning 82-67. Jason Farr had 22 points and 8 boards, as John Anderson hits 32 points, with 10 rebounds securing his double-double for the night.

Season Review: (Eleven 23)

Eleven 23 a newly formed team this spring season, had their moments in games, flashes of excellence but ultimately shadowed by its flaws, and inexperience playing with each other as a whole. With a big man, and a true point guard on the team, maybe next season if 1123 wishes to come back, they can defiantly make noise. With a solid shooter in Tyree Franklin, a young hustle, up and down Kyle Leflore, and a big presences down low in Jerome Barnes. Around these players, adding more experience can really make a difference for 1123.
