SHELBY REC: YLie Ends Magnolia's Finest Win Streak at 14, Tune Squad Make Huge Upset




The defending champs, Magnolia’s Finest lost their first game after being undefeated last year, and also starting the spring season without a loss either. Heading into Wednesday Night, Magnolia’s Finest had a 14 game winning streak on the line going up against a powerful YLie team. Johnnie Brown and Drew Maynard combined for 48 points to edge the defending champs. For Magnolia’s Finest, Frank Gojcaj 24 points, 8 boards, 4 steals, and a block, gave his team a chance to get to 15 straight, but without Mark Berishaj , or Antonio Harden, fatigue set in real quick, and YLie smartly took advantage to take down the champs , Frank Gojcaj said after the game “ We will not lose another game, I pray that we see them again.” Ylie wins 78-67.

DeAndre Cottrell catches fire with 7 three pointers versus the Wildcats. The Infantry dominate the second half, and took a commanding lead, blowing past the wildcats 81-63. Sully Youanis shot a whopping 25% from the field, unusual performance from him in this loss.

When it rains it pours, Mckinsey Golfin, Jason Sawinksi, Jamier Mix, and Evan Wilson all shot amazingly well, with 70% shooting from the field as a team. Mckinsey Golfin led the way with 23 points against 1123 and they cruise along for their 3rd win of the season winning 102-85.

Spencer Plizga had is best game yet this season, shooting 73% from the field scoring 24 points as the win , one of the biggest upsets this season. Joe Pllumbaj had 18 points, and still continues his dominating defense performance with 3 more steals. He has a total of 20 steals this season in the six games he has played so far.
