SHELBY REC: Twelve Straight, Still Undefeated!




Twelve straight wins Magnolia’s Finest still have not been beaten. Going 9-0 last season, ultimately winning the championship, Magnolia’s Finest starts the 2014 spring season 3-0 after defeating House Of Skillz this past week. John Sinishtaj, last season’s MVP, wasn't his usually self only going 3-12 from the field and only scorning 11 points. Frank Gojcaj again dominated the boards earning his second double- double this season with 16 rebounds and 14 points. The difference maker was Mark Berishaj hitting critical shots down the stretch, scoring 25points along with 3 steals as Magnolia’s Finest turned up the defense in the second half against House of Skillz. Magnolia’s Finest only held Vaughn Gray to 8 points and forcing him 5 turnovers. Andrew Rizzi has a great offensive performance scoring 23 points for Skills, but the rest of the team couldn’t get it going against the champs. Magnolia’s Finest wins 65 to 58.

Wildcats off to a great start this season going 2-0 as well, Sully Youanis lighting it up in the second half in a win versus Eleven 23. Sully hit six three pointers, and shot fifty-six percent from the field scoring 33 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Tyree Franklin and Semir Agic led the team in scoring , combing for 42 points, but just wasn’t enough, as Sully Youanis carried the wildcats in the second half to rally and win 78 to 67.

Performance Fiber Glass (Performance Issues) with veteran leadership, and skill, took care of business in an easy win against Tune Squad. Jason Sawinski led the way with 23 points. Tune Squad still struggling to find their first win of the season. A team still looking for an identity. Joe Pllumbaj led the team with 16 points and had 4 steals, but his play and Tune Squads was overshadowed by a dominating performance by Performance.
