TULSA, OK: Breakout Performances Solidify Playoff Spots

Tulsa Playoff Spots

The regular season came to an end on Monday and now it is time for March Madness. The teams played in the regular season finale to help determine their playoff seeding. Each team had a lot to play for and intensity was on display as multiple players stepped up and had breakout performances.

Old School got revenge and solidified the number one seed throughout the playoffs. They avenged their only loss of the season as they dominated the Wolfpack 84-68. They were led by team captain, and always consistent, Matt Mardis who had 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. He also shot a 15-25 from the field in the win. The Wolfpack could never seem to get on track, but have a chance to redeem themselves in the playoffs, as they solidified the number 2 seed.

The Stunners and Tulsa Snipers matched up in the second game of the night. Shawn Bennett and Paul Gray stepped up for their respective teams and put on a Lebron vs. Durant type performance. The game was back and forth the whole time with the Tulsa Snipers coming out with a close 98-93 win. Shawn Bennett led the way with a monster game. He ended the night with 44 points and 6 rebounds, shooting a ridiculous 80% from the field and 10-10 from the charity stripe. Paul Gray would not be outdone and did his best to keep the Stunners in the game. He ended up with 45 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 20-23 from the field. In the end it wasn’t enough as Tulsa Snipers held on and claimed the number 4 seed.

The Money Team’s Samuel Ademulim put on a Dennis Rodman type performance in the last game of the night versus the Jayhawks. He had 10 points and 23 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Jayhawks pulled out a close 62-59 win. The Jayhawks were led by Branden Henson who had a game high 26 points and helped his team claim the number 3 seed for the playoffs.

The playoffs are set and each team is gearing up to make a run for the championship. Old School comes in as the favorites, and is trying to win their 3rd title in 4 seasons. As everyone knows though anything can happen during March Madness. Every team has the ability to get hot and make a Cinderella run to claim the championship. They are hoping this is the year as the madness begins next week.
