MANSFIELD, TX: Week 2 Immersed in OT | Week 3 Predictions
Last week's games were both decided in over time play, and as the air filled up with emotions and controversy, many say that this is exactly the type of spark Mansfield needed. All of the teams for the most part have made positive adjustments and changes, not to mention a heaping dose of trash talk along with egos flaring about as to who will come out on top this season.
In Game 1 next week we will see The Fundamentalists take on the newly rejuvenated Lunch Ballers thanks to the return of explosive guard Adam Rowe, coming off a 20 point 7 assist game in their OT loss to UHoopaz. Their team probably has more 3-point shooters than any other in the league (21 made so far as team), and can dominate with their quickness and ability to move the ball.
Sam Bailey is averaging 40 points going into Week 3, with 45 against We Get Buckets in 3 OTs.
What hurts The Fundamentalists the most is their ability to have all of their players on any given week. Lunch Ballers will definitely have their guys there ready to brawl, and even though they took a loss in OT last week, I don't see them letting up at all. My Prediction: Lunch Ballers by 6
Game 2 will see current champs UHoopaz facing a struggling We Get Buckets. UHoopaz regained star player Tritan Smith, and with other additions to the team like slim forward Rich Gant and veteran guard Chris Mitchell, they seem to be back on track as a powerhouse squad. With rumors of guard Chauncey Lusk leaving the team, and with the recent absences of power forward/center Butch Harris, they seem to be lost in their quest to find themselves as a team. My Prediction: UHoopaz by 15.
