Alpharetta, GA: Big Time Teams Playing in this Weeks Semi Finals

Barlow and Rod Smith look to create offense with pressure defense

This week in the Alpharetta Club we have a new look and a new set of match ups. I am super excited about this weeks games. We have some heavyweight match ups. I believe in the talent that plays in our league and I can bet anyone of these teams in our playoffs can matchup against any team in the country. I put my basketball reputation on it…

Max Contracts vs. Mamba V

This game is all about the guards, Max Contracts and Mamba V have two lead guards thats play different but effective styles. My most underrated player in the Alpharetta league is Blaise White. He is the engine that runs this team, he has a solid handle and his ability to locate Taylor Patterson or his other teammates is key to the success of Mamba V. Max Contracts raised them 2 pretty special players themselves, Ashley Olinger and RegionID=4&SeasonDivisionID=1254&PlayerID=15330">Greg Barlow. Ashley is a physical player who uses his leverage the best out of any guard in our league. You will often find him near the rim where he gets lay up or free throws. Barlow is similar but with more "shake" is his game. Now don't get that confused, he has power in his game he just uses it differently that Olinger. This matchup of guards is good stuff. Max Contracts will try to neutralize Patterson as he is the most lethal shooter in our league. I feel that that the team that can keep the other off the line and whoever controls the backboards will win this game. Both these teams shoot a high percentage, so misses and conversions will be the important to watch.

X factors
Max Contracts: Alex Elam can he be that explosive 3rd scorer that cause match up problems

Mamba V: Tommy Thompson and can Mamba V guard effectively on the perimeter.

Rain Makers vs Enough Said

There is nothing like playing the team in the playoffs that beat you in the regular season. This is a classic grudge match. Markeal King has said, " I have not even begun to show all I have". Talk like that comes after Enough Said handed the #1 team their only loss of the season. Enough Said has the physicality to match Rain Makers but do they have enough to contend with a fully engaged King. The Rain Makers were without their steady guard Julien Wilson, he had been consistent on both ends and he stretches the floor which opens up the paint. Enough Said has that physical presence in Anthony Brown, he had played his best basketball of late, mainly staying out of foul trouble and giving his guard a target at the basket. This game will come down to who can execute with the least amount of unforced mistakes. The match up is important and I feel the winner of this game stands the strongest chance to win the Championship.

X Factors:

Enough Said: Darien Kearney and Rob Bolden: If these 2 players can attack the basket and defend the perimeter then they will provide the punch needed to win.

Rain Makers: Demarkus Tate and Kelvin Porter: These 2 guys can easily average 20 a game, however which ever one of these two players can step up 1st the other can facilitate and play off the hot hand..
