MINNESOTA OPEN: Steib continues to stuff stat sheet for UH Classics | Rockets escape upset
Steib (center) has been a pillar of consistency for the UH Classics
Bloomington MN- For UH Classics point guard Rob Steib, the comparisons to the NBA's Jason Kidd will not cease.
Like Kidd, Steib does not need to prove his value in the scoring column. It's his on-ball defense, passing and smart team play that has the multiple Gold Cup Champion regarded as one of the best pure point guards in the country.
Tuesday night in Bloomington South Open Division League, Steib finished with seven points, seven rebounds, 12 assists and five steals in UH Classics 90-54 win over the Cavaliers. Steib's Player Performance Rating for the night- an impressive 22.2. Steib is currently #14 in PPR Average this season at Bloomington South.
Steib's longtime teammate Montrell Yancey had another monster night with 36 points, seven rebounds and two blocks to finish with Tuesday night best 28.0 PPR.
The UH Classics are now 4-3 on the season. They will conclude their regular season against Fortress on March 15.
Other Notes from Tuesday Night at Bloomington South:
- The 6-1 Rockets nearly escaped an upset against 1-6 TNT with 100-99 win. Forward Grant Dudinsky had 27 points to lead the Rockets.
- The 6-1 Titans opened a can on 2-5 Fortress, winning 111-73. Titan's Johnny Ball had 27 points to lead the Titans in scoring.
