COLUMBUS, OH: Ex Nebraska Cornhusker, Dapreis Owens, Earns Player of the Week
The former pro player helped his team grab the 4th seed for the playoffs with a huge game at Dublin.
Bucket’s Dapreis Owens was just too much to handle this Wednesday as they squeaked by Sunset Park with a 90-85 victory.
The ex-Nebraska Cornhusker used his 6’9” 240 pound frame to score at will on Wednesday night at Dublin. He scored 32 points on the night while pulling down 21 rebounds (7 OREB). Owens shot an impressive 60% (12-20) from the field and 70% (7-10) from the charity stripe. His 21 rebounds is a career best and single-game record for Spring 2013. In addition to his offensive highlights, Dapreis also had a block on the defensive end. This performance brings his PRA (Points+Rebounds+Assists) to 32.9 and his PPR (Player Performance Ranking) to 22.63, bringing himself to 11th and 8th in the league, respectively. Owens is nearly averaging a double-double on the season with 21 PPG and 9.3 RPG.
