COMMERCE OPEN: Predictions | The week everyone has been waiting for

Phil Thomas from Runnin' Rebels with the drive past Hit Squad

No better way to enter week seven then to go back to same match-ups that started the season. These games were made for week one because of the rivalries. Let’s see if the outcome changes this week.

7:00 p.m. – Hit Squad (3-3) vs. Sons of Basketball (2-4)

Last week Sons of Basketball PF Joel Simpson guaranteed his team would win the last 3 games of the regular season and many scoffed at the idea. However, his team came out and shut down Ill Life La Familia in one of the biggest upsets of the season backing up their leader’s claim. Another must win comes this week against Hit Squad as Simpson will most likely have to deal with leading MVP candidate Rocko Holmes. I’m betting Simpson continues to back up his guarantee.

8:00 p.m. – Dat Aint Fair (4-2) vs. C4 (5-1)

The first matchup between these squads ended in a blowout win for C4 and many questions arising regarding Dat Aint Fair. Since then, Dat Aint Fair has righted the ship, winning 4 of their last 5 games. C4 will be without star shooter Jeff Jayson (11 3 pt’s last week) which puts the scoring load on Brandon Nafso and Justin Dabish. The young guards of C4 will keep this game close, but without Jayson, Dat Aint Fair’s top to bottom scoring will be too much in this one. A rubber match in the playoffs with full rosters will be must see between these two squads.

9:00 p.m. – Runnin' Rebels (0-6) vs. Ill Life La Familia (4-2)

The Rebels are coming off of three losses in a row of 17 points or more and running into an upset ILLF squad coming off of a rough loss last week in which they scored only 57 points. GM Julius Barnett will rally the troops this week to pull off a convincing victory over the Rebels. Chris Dierker will prove to be a matchup nightmare for the Rebels tonight with his inside/outside game and athleticism.
