COMMERCE 17U: Power Rankings | The race for the playoff spots are on

Armando Suleiman and Tarik Saed talking about their game plan

A four team race for 3 playoff spots will headline the second half of the season. Every Tuesday night teams will separate themselves in positioning themselves to make a run against #1 Poon Patrol in the playoffs.

1) Poon Patrol (5-0, Last week #1) – PP stays here due to the fact that they have no losses and everyone else has at least two. However, Splash Squad is getting better every week and PP barely squeaked by The Ballers last week, who are winless. Losing Anthony Denha is going to hurt Poon Patrol come playoff time, but lets see how they do.

2) Splash Squad (3-2, Last week #2) – I know they have 2 losses. I know they lost to Poon Patrol. I can’t rank them ahead of Poon Patrol. Despite all of that, I think this team is the current favorite to win the championship. They are getting better every week and probably have the best offensive talent of any team in the league. Especially after the interview with Anthony Karana talking smack about Armando Suleiman, I know Armando is going to have this match-up on his books.

3) Bad Boys (3-2, Last week #5) – The Bad Boys have done what they were supposed to do the last two weeks beating up on The Ballers and destroying Mini Mamba. Let’s see if they can duplicate their week 1 win over the hottest team in the league, Splash Squad.

4) Mini Mamba (2-3, Last week #3) – Last week’s 24 pt loss to The Bad Boys was a little disturbing. With Poon Patrol and Splash Squad in weeks 7 and 8, they better beat The Ballers in week 6 if they want that 4th playoff spot.

5) Sand Storm (2-3, Last week #4) – Consecutive losses to Sand Storm and Splash Squad drop you to 5th place in the Power Rankings, only ahead of the team with no wins and on the outside looking in of the playoff picture.

6) The Ballers (0-5, Last week #6) – Week 6 might be their best shot to get a W. If not this week, it will probably come down to a week 8 matchup week against Sand Storm. Nobody wants to see a team go winless. Come on Ballers, don’t let us down.
