COMMERCE 14U: Power Rankings | Team Sonny final shot at making playoffs

Sonny Asker getting through four defenders

More than halfway through the season and things are starting to heat up. Team Sonny has to win the next three games to have a chance at playoffs. Payroll has a chance to redeem themselves and give Mice Men their first loss. Lets take a look at how the team rank this week.

1) Mice Men (5-0, Last week #1) – From week 1 on, this team has had the top ranked offense and defense in the league. To go along with that, they probably have the best player in the league in Phil Qarana, whom is having a monster session. Can anyone beat this team?

2) Payroll (4-1, Last week #2) – The good news: Payroll only has one loss. The bad news: That loss was a 16-pt drubbing at the hands of Mice Men. They get a shot for revenge in week 6. Hopefully they can beat the undefeated Mice Men and redeem themselves at the same time.

3) Bulls (2-3, Last week #5) – The Bulls made a huge step toward locking a playoff spot up by winning the last two weeks after a dreadful 0-3 start. While not yet in the category of the top 2, they definitely look like a playoff team at this point.

4) Sneaker Heads (3-2, Last week #3) – Exposed part 2. The Sneaker Heads at one point were considered for the #1 ranking (3-0 after 3 weeks) but have since lost to both of the top teams, with neither game really being close. With the Bulls trending up (2 wins in a row) and the Sneaker Heads trending down (2 losses in a row), their week 6 rematch becomes all that more intriguing.

5) Young Ballers (1-4, Last week #4) – Young Ballers still have an outside chance to make the playoffs but need a win this week and a Bulls loss to get back into a tie for 4th. GM Angelo Suleiman told me that he wont lose another game. Is he trying to follow in his older brothers footsteps?

6) Team Sonny (0-5, Last week #6) – For being winless at this point in the season, Team Sonny has played a lot of close games. Wouldn’t surprise us at all if they pulled off a win or two in the final three weeks, with their best change coming against #5 Young Ballers this week. They need to win the next three games to have a shot at the playoffs.
