COMMERCE 17U: Power Rankings | Mini Mamba's are heated from their past two losses

Tarik Saed and Kyle Karmo chatting before their game

Poon Patrol stays on top but Splash Squad is rising fast after winning a big game last week and keeping their promise. Sand Storm with a major pick up. Teams are ready for the half of the season mark.

1) Poon Patrol (3-0, Last week #1) – PP continued to impress by stomping the Bad Boys last week but have an opportunity to solidify the #1 spot even more when they play Splash Squad, the hottest offensive team in the league over the last two weeks.

2) Splash Squad (2-1, Last week #5) – Tarik Saed and Armando Suleiman combined to shoot 21-33 from the field incluing 11-17 from deep for a combined 56 pts. Add in 18 more from Collin Blackmer and a 10 rebounds from Kyle Karmo and you have the team that is currently trending upward the most in the league. The #1 ranking is theirs if they can take down #1 PP this week.

3) Sand Storm (2-1, Last week #2) – While 2-1, they still don’t have a signature victory and it would not surprise me if they went on a losing streak over the next three weeks. I’m keeping them here at #3 for now, but expecting at least two losses over the next three games. Also GM Rami Shamo picked up the beast Landis Jaddou which should helped them tremendously.

4) Mini Mamba (1-2, Last week #4) – No shame in having two losses to Poon Patrol and Splash Squad. Would not be surprised if this team got wins in the next 3 weeks over Sand Storm, Bad Boys, and The Ballers to move 4-2 and secure a playoff spot. GM Julian Kamposh and the rest of the Mini Mamba's are heated and I would watch out.

5) Bad Boys (1-2, Last week #3) – I understand it was a loss against #1 Poon Patrol, but losing by 27 pts (72-45) will drop you in the rankings. That is the type of loss that has you hoping to make the playoffs, but on the inside you know you have a lot of work to do to compete for a championship.

6) The Ballers (0-3, Last week #6) – This team doesn’t have any bad losses but is going to have to put a win on the board to get out of the cellar. Going to be a tough time fighting to get into that 4th and final playoff spot over the last 5 weeks of the season. Better start this week in a must win game against # 5 Bad Boys.
