COMMERCE OPEN: Predictions | Who will it be?

Lamar Eddington trying to get into Chris Dierker's head

Each matchup pits a 1-0 team vs an 0-1 team. In my opinion, only one team will still be undefeated after week 2.

7:00 p.m. – C4 (1-0) vs. Runnin' Rebels (0-1)

The top offensive unit in the league (C4) against arguably the top defensive team in the league (RR) provides some excitement for our first matchup of the night. The Rebels will hold C4 under 100 points but I just don’t see them having enough offensive firepower to pull off the upset. C4 big in the first game of the night.

C4 92 – Running Rebels 75

8:00 p.m. – Ill Life La Familia (1-0) vs. Sons of Basketball (0-1)

There are some great individual matchups in this game featuring Julius Barnett (ILLF) v Darius Statum (SOB) and Chris Dierker (ILLF) v Joel Simpson (SOB). Whichever team comes out on top of those two battles will come out on top in the end. My money is the veterans Statum and Simpson in a low scoring close game.

Sons of Basketball 67 – Ill Life La Familia 66

9:00 p.m. – Hit Squad (1-0) vs. Dat Aint Fair (0-1)

If Hit Squad thought they were going to catch DAF out of focus or on an off night, that all went out the window after DAF lost big in week 1. Vaughn Gray, McKinsey Golfin, and Darryl Foster will circle the wagons and come out blazing in week 1. This young Hit Squad team is good but not quite ready to take down a veteran team with as much firepower as DAF does. Remember, Dat Aint Fair is STILL 23-2 in their last 25 ultimate hoops Commerce games.

Dat Aint Fair 90 – Hit Squad 81
