WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 3 Preview

The Throwbacks vs. Medicinal Mambas
The Throwbacks are coming off of a heartbreaking loss last week and are looking to rebound against the 1-1 Medicinal mambas. The Mambas have a lot of talent, but will just need to figure out how to get that talent to coexist in order to become a dominant team in this league. The Throwbacks have team chemistry on their side, and with each week seem to be improving. This should be a closely contested matchup that could easily come down to the final moments of the game. The Throwbacks will need a complete team effort on both ends of the court in order to stop the fast paced game of the Mambas. Both team get most of their points in the paint and will likely be the same case this week. Expect this to be a grind until the end.

The Bad Boys vs. Lifetime Legends
The Bad Boys put up an impressive 98 points last week, and will look to do the same this week against a struggling Lifetime Legends team. The Legends are improving each week, but just haven’t seem to found a groove yet in this young season. The Bad Boys will likely pound the ball inside and use their size to their advantage to score easy points. The Legends best attribute is their hustle on the defensive end of the court and if they can just add some scoring to that, then don’t be surprised to see them get some wins this season. The Bad Boys are likely going to be too experienced and talented to let this win get away from them, but don’t be surprised if the Legends put up a good fight.

Tropics vs. Big Sky Bombers
The Tropics are a newer team this season and are struggling to contend with the league’s best. This week will be another challenge as they face another newer team, but a team that has shown some good play at times this season. The Tropics will need to get themselves an identity if they really want to be competitive for the rest of the season. Big Sky Bombers should get the job done this week and likely won’t be the most exciting of games this week.

Young Metro vs. The Rejects
In one of the more anticipated games of the night, the Rejects are going against the 1-1 Young Metro. Young Metro will be without their leading scorer in Chris Morgan but still look to get the win for themselves even with his absence. The Rejects, led by Blake Mahler are coming off a huge win last week and will look to carry that momentum into this week’s game. Young Metro will need someone to step up in the scoring department and it will be interesting to see just what player will take on that role. Both teams have similar play styles and will be looking to push the ball right at each other throughout the whole game. We know both teams are going to get their points, so the winner will likely be the team that steps up their defense towards the end of the game.

Air Ball vs. Fire Squad
Fire Squad is one of the youngest teams in the league and their style of play certainly shows that. They play a very fast paced style of play and slowing down is not in their vocabulary. Air Ball is a newer team this season but does have some experienced players on their roster. Injuries have plagued them already early on this season and if they can nip that bug, they should be able to find themselves competing this season. Fire Squad should have the fire power this week to get the job done and I expect them to get the win again this week.

IMPACT Basketball vs. Hard Work
The most anticipated matchup of the season will be this game. Both teams are past league champs and want to show that they are the true Ultimate Hoops champs. IMPACT relies heavily on the scoring of both Jimmie Binnie and Beau Barney and if Hard Work is able to neutralize at least one of them, then they have a good chance of winning. Hard Work will look to utilize Reggie Jackson’s size inside and if they can get the 3 ball going as well, they will be very hard to beat. This is going to be one game everyone will have their eye on and will be an early game of the year candidate.
