ATLANTA, GA: Week 2 Preview | Doug Rhodes and Darian Kearney share their predictions for tonight's matchups
DT looking like the mailman in week 1.
Derek Turner looks to lead Gawd Squad this week to 2-0 while Bryan Gates and Chris Anderson are two of the top guards and are working together to take this league by storm. Can these two basketball dominate guards work together to win a championship? Or will they play solo basketball to improve there stats?
Late Starters vs Enough Said 7pm
Douglas Rhodes Prediction:
Enough Said is once again looking like the best team in The Atlanta league. Even though they lost some key players they still continue to play great defense and great team ball. They picked up Alex Elam and Buck Jenkins and these two make them a stronger team than they had in the spring season. Hopefully The Late Starters can get Combo guard Thomas Lemon back from a finger injury. If not it will be tough for the Late Starters to generate offense.
Prediction: Enough Said by 14
Gawd Squad vs. Team Follies 8PM
Darian Kearney Prediction:
Gawd Squad is a team that talks a lot of trash but can back it up, lead by front runner Frankie Ghouchani. We recently caught up with Frankie and his words to the rest of the league were, “if a team wants me to stop talking trash, then beat me!” Those are some bold words, but he has proven to be a winner. Gawd Squad will have there hands full against Team Follies who have added some great additions to there team, but are looking to bounce back tonight after a tough loss. They will need to play team ball and tough defense. The moment Team Follies tries to play hero ball they will lose tremendously. I expect a big game out of Doug Rhodes and Jay Gooden. Kevin Willis Jr. is coming back home to play his old teammates and looks to show them why they will miss his production.
Prediction: Toss Up
Douglas Rhodes Prediction:
Gawd Squad looks to be a contending team in the Atlanta league with the addition of Kevin Willis Jr and Frankie Ghouchani. They had all players score in double figures in last weeks win.
Team Follies didn't play its best game last week with their new additions to their roster. I think Team Follies will get better as the Season goes along.
Prediction: Team Follies by 2
Mumford Returns vs. Free Agents 9PM
Darian Kearney Prediction:
This is my BBQ chicken game of the night. Bryan Gates and Chris Anderson are looking to make this a statement game and I expect for them both to have big numbers. The only way that Free Agents will win this game is if they slow the pace down and play zone. They need a veteran on this team to show them how to win games. If they work together as a team and not play solo ball then they have a slight chance. This game needs to be in the mid 50’s for Free Agents to even compete. But even with that game plan, Mumford Return has too many stars on there team.
Prediction: Mumford Returns by 30
Douglas Rhodes Prediction:
Well The Free Agents didn't get off to a good start last week and it may not get any easier this week against Mumford Returns. Chris Anderson got off to a great start last week scoring 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. If The Free Agents don't slow him down in this one it may be a long night.
Prediction: Mumford Returns by 12
