WOODSTOCK/MOUNTAIN BROOK: Week 5 Power Rankings | It May Be the End of the South Beach Bombers

Sonny can't seem to get his team to play quality basketball.

We have passed the halfway point of the season and we still can't figure out what is wrong with the South Beach Bombers. This is one of the farthest falls from grace we have ever seen in Ultimate Hoops. Is there any way they can get this season back on track?

1. No More Losses (5-0)

No more losses got a another huge victory, despite being down two of their top scorers who were in Las Vegas to attend the Ultimate Hoops National tournament. Gorm Laursen needed to step up big as an additional scorer for No More Losses and did with 14 points and 9 rebounds. There is no challenge right now for No More Losses. They should be able to easily hold onto the top seed in Mountain Brook and qualify for the all Atlanta tournament.

2. Hammers (3-2)

The Hammers have moved up the power rankings and they are back near the top of the league. They have a couple losses, but they were very impressive in Week 5. They look to be running back close to full speed and they are always a dangerous team once they figure it out. Bobby Brent had a very nice game with 9 points and 12 rebounds. He is definitely the glue to this team. They are not going to be able to contend until he puts up a double-double every week. I don't think they can beat No More Losses, but they could make some noise if they get to the Atlanta Tournament.

3. Other Guys (3-2)

The Other Guys had a very disappointing game in week 4. They were blown out by the Hammers by 24 points and only managed to shoot 37% from the field as a team. I'm not sure what the team is going to be able to do this year. They have gone from a favorite to slipping in the rankings week by week. If they are not careful, we could see a first round exit for a team that easily could go deep into the playoffs.

4. Skyforce (2-3)

Skyforce got a much needed win this week against the South Beach Bombers. I don't know if that says very much considering how bad South Beach is this season. Skyforce just doesn't look like the same team as last year. The only real bright spot for this team is Michael Leight who continues to have a great season. He had a nice 24 point performance in Week 5 and if they can keep the ball in his hands they might be able to pull out an upset.

5. Roswell Ballers (2-3)

The Roswell Ballers fell to 2-3 this week with a loss to No More Losses. They have shown a ton of progress this season, but when matched up against the top team in the league they were no match. They could definitely sneak into the Atlanta tournament, but at some point they will have to add some real talent to their team. They are still just a bunch of role players trying to come together. Let's see how they fair the next couple of weeks, but they are definitely not the worst team at Woodstock.

6. South Beach Bombers (0-5)

It's official! The South Beach Bombers are the worst team in Woodstock. They don't have any chemistry and they have no clue how to win games. Although they were able to add big man Terry Campbell back into the mix, they still do not have a point guard that can run their team. I hate to say it, but I think we are looking at an 0-8 team this year.
