ALPHARETTA, GA: Week 1 Power Rankings | Enough Said Makes an Early Statement
Enough Said takes down the Sugarloaf champions Week 1.
Week 1 is over at Alpharetta. As some of the teams start to come together there is always one constant, Enough Said. Every season they come to play from day one and opening week was no different. They have sent an early statement to the league that if you want to win a championship at Alpharetta you will have to come through them.
1. Enough Said (1-0)
I usually like to mention a couple of players when we do power rankings, but for Week 1, I will talk strictly about the team. That is the way Enough Said takes apart their opponents so it's hard to single out any one member. The Spartans learned that quickly in Week 1. Enough Said plays hard the entire game and if you aren't ready for that level of intensity you will get KO'd in the first round. Week 2 will be a big matchup with Team Follies, but right now the champs are still the champs.
2. The Late Starters (1-0)
With Max Contracts backing out of the league 2 hours before tipoff (more coming about that in an article next week), The Late Starters got to play Team Follies in a scrimmage game in Week 1. The looked great as a team and new addition Jonathan Campbell should help them inside. If Tony Neysmith shows up on a regular basis this could be a very different team, but that has been the same story since this team formed.
3. Team Follies (1-0)
The rumor is that Team Follies will be losing leading scorer Kevin Willis for the season with a foot injury. They have played without him in the past and been successful, but we will have to see if newcomer David Sherwood can give them the minutes they need at the wing. Darcy Schultz should be back from his illness in Week 1 and has a huge matchup versus Ant Brown and Enough Said this week.
4. Spartans (0-1)
The Spartans are a great team, but they know that playing undersized in Alpharetta is going to cause more problems than it would at Sugarloaf. They let the physical play get to them in Week 1, and the game against Enough Said got away from them in the second half. There are rumors that they will eventually be adding big man Adalius Thomas, but until AD shows up they are going to need some help.
5. Mumford Returns (0-1)
Ryan Mumford is breaking apart from the leagues Free Agents to make his own team. He will have some veteran talent on the squad, but he needs to get back over to weekly pick up if he expects to get a big man. They are very undersized and will need a lot of big games form their backcourt to compete.
6. Free Agents (0-1)
The Free Agents will have a new look in Week 2. With some late additions to the league it's hard to judge this team just yet. Once their roster gets more clear, we shall see what this team is really capable of. They face Mumford this week which may be their best chance to get an early win this season.
