WOODSTOCK/MOUNTAIN BROOK, GA: Week 1 Power Rankings | The Return of Taylor Patterson

No More Losses new addition Mike Hattub guarding Jack Patrick.

Taylor Patterson is back from a short hiatus, but will he be able to reclaim his top spot at Woodstock. Taylor is Atlanta’s all time leading scorer with 2781 career points (ranked #103 in the nation) and has never had trouble putting up big time stat lines. But scoring isn’t the only thing Taylor is used to at Woodstock, winning has come easy for the Hammers in the past.

The Hammer’s look to bring back their winning ways, but the teams at Woodstock have caught up. This season looks to be an exciting one. I could see any of the 6 teams in the league raising the banner at the end of Spring.

1. No More Losses (1-0)

The champs look great this season. They have made their team even stronger with the additions of Prince Kearney and Mike Hattub. They defend well, play as a team, and have all the makings of a championship roster. They got out to a great start with an impressive win verses the Hammers. Could this be the year they go undefeated?

2. Hammers (0-1)

Taylor Patterson is back! The Hammers have a very similar look to their other championship teams, but the question will always be if they can find an additional scoring threat. Anytime they have competed for the championship, they had a 2nd and 3rd scorer. We are still waiting to find out who that will be, but Taylor usually has a late recruit if things are not progressing as he likes.

3. Other Guys (1-0)

David Sherwood may be the sleeper MVP pick for Woodstock this year. He is the best all around player in the league and gives you 100% effort night in and out. If Austin Cheatum can keep up his play from week 1, you can expect them to pass the Hammers in the rankings. It’s too early to tell, but they might make their first championship game this year.

4. Skyforce (1-0)

Skyforce has the best front court in the league, but they have lacked chemistry in the past. They started out with a nice win to open the season, but the game wasn’t much of a test. Can Bill York continue to improve and will Jarrett Hinton step up and become a serious scoring threat? Lot’s of questions to be answered this season for Skyforce?

5. South Beach Bombers (0-1)

This isn’t the South Beach Bombers that we are used to. The team is completely revamped, with plenty of new free agents joining the squad. They played a solid opening game, but looked out manned without their big man Sonny Givens. He is coming off an off-season surgery and should be back next week. We will have to wait and see if Coach Sonny can turn these guys into a contender.

6. Roswell Ballers (0-1)

Crafted by the basketball mastermind Carlos Carthen, the Roswell Ballers are entering their first season of Ultimate Hoops play. We will have to monitor them over the next couple of weeks to see if they can figure out how to play together. Carlos guaranteed a championship, but that is looking a long way off.

Look for the Week 2 Game Preview next Tuesday!
