MONTVALE, NJ: Who's In Trouble?

Just two games in, the Black Ops have gotten our attention…for all the wrong reasons.

Two weeks down, two undefeateds and two win-less teams left. Too early to call out the disappointments? Never.

Really, what can you say? Week Two saw some downright ugly basketball. It doesn’t matter how good the competition is. Shooting under 25% is bad. We’re not talking about a few players. We mean 25% for entire teams. Awful.

Black Ops, Underdogs and Ferrall Ballerz all fell into that category. Yes, they all lost by double-digits. Add up the point totals of those three teams and it’s still under 100. We’ll have plenty of time to discuss the favorites and the contenders as the season progresses. But now, it’s all about the ugly.

First up, Black Ops. 65 points TOTAL so far. Oh boy. Points against? 128. RUNt helped out there with a 45-point beat down. It’s rather difficult to call out a single player on Black Ops. Let’s just call this a team effort in futility. Stay tuned.

Next, the Underdogs. For now, they will get a little leeway. One close loss followed up by a rout in which they were short-handed isn’t a total train wreck. Still, you guys are on notice. Time to start scoring some more points. Scary stat: Hector Camilo’s 4-for-26 outing against the Dream Team, good for a -12.4 PPR (Nobody really knows how PPR is calculated, but that number certainly doesn’t look good).

Finally, no disaster list is complete without the Ferrall Ballerz. As they continue to play towards respectability, they always seem to take one step forward and two steps back. 1-1 isn’t bad, but that one win came against…Black Ops. This week’s scary stat line: Perry Mann, with a 1-for-13 showing (-13 PPR). These guys are probably in better shape than the Black Ops and Underdogs. Still, it's always fun to take a shot at them when the opportunity presents itself.

Before the Ballerz disastrous showing, Ferrall talked with (well, yelled at) Evan Lampert and James Mougis of the McNuggets. As always, nonsense ensued. Enjoy.
