WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 2 Preview

Great Unknown vs. Hoopsters

Coming off a tough loss in week 1, The Hoopsters are looking to get their first win against Great Unknown, who also lost a close one in week 1. Hoopsters, led by Richard Peterson, were very impressive in their debut and will look to upset one of the more known teams in the Great Unknown. Cold shooting plagued the Great Unknown in week one, so it will be interesting to see just what this team’s true potential is when firing on all cylinders. This game is sure to be one to watch; expect fast paced and high scoring action.

J Bug's pick: Great Unknown

Ignite Athletics vs. The Bad Boys

The 1-0 Ignite Athletics head into this matchup facing off against the 0-1 Bad Boys. The Bad Boys lost a heartbreaker to one of the toughest teams in week one and are sure to be hungry for redemption this week. The Bad Boys are loaded with veterans and each season make a splash in the standings. Newly added Solomon Yearby could be a hidden treasure discovered by GM Matt Rice. Ignite Athletics, led by Blake Irwin, were impressive in week one and we expect much the same in week 2. Expect this game to be rough and physical on both ends of the ball.

J Bug's pick: The Bad Boys

Slam Drunk vs. The Gladiators

Two well known teams battle it out in what is sure to be a shootout. Saul Chavira always has his squad ready and they are capable of defeating any team if the three-ball is falling. Slam Drunk has the most chemistry of any team coming into this season having played together the past few seasons. Slam Drunk is very balanced on both offense and defense and it will be interesting to see what strategy they employ to stop the fast-paced tempo of the Gladiators. If you watch this game, bring an umbrella, because it’s surely going to be raining threes.

J Bug's pick: The Gladiators

Impact Basketball vs. Man Bear Pig

Impact Basketball heads into week 2 looking better than ever after adding star player Jimmy Binnie to the already dynamic duo of Mike Brooks and Beau Barney. This big 3 will be favorites heading into almost every match up this season. Man Bear Pig is a unique combination of past teams joined together. In week one, chemistry was a little off for them, but if they can iron things out, this team is loaded with talent and could make a real game of this and upset the early season favorites. This game will be a tough half court matchup, which will be a nice display of team basketball.

J Bug's pick: Impact Basketball

We Goin Sizzler vs. Hard Work

In the final matchup of week 2, We Goin Sizzler is coming off a nice shooting performance in week one and will be facing off against an emerging powerhouse in Hard Work. Led by Shondell Lee, Hard Work is loaded with talent and will be interesting to see how well these players can gel together. We Goin Sizzler is the perfect example of team basketball and these players know how to play together. Hard Work didn’t experience much adversity in week one, so it will be interesting to see how they handle the first instance of it this season. We Goin Sizzler wants to stay undefeated and will be hungry for the victory. This game could be the matchup of the week, and will be interesting to see whether chemistry or sheer talent will come out with the “W.”

J Bug's pick: Hard Work
