WESTMINSTER, CO: Week 1 Power Rankings

Week 1 Westminster Winter Power Rankings

1. Impact Basketball (1-0): the defending champs opened up their winter campaign with a 79-66 victory over The Gladiators. Impact had a balanced attack, with four guys in double figures, led by Mike Brooks with 22 points.

2. Slam Drunk (1-0): Slam Drunk squeaked out a victory of a tough Bad Boys team, 78-75. Clutch free throws as time was running out led to a victory over the aptly named, Slam Drunk.

3. We Goin Sizzler (1-0): We Goin Sizzler trailed at the half in their game, but hit a buffet of buckets from beyond the arc to win their opener, 55-51. Patrick Dudley led the three-point barrage with six of them, on his way to 20 points for the geriatric hot spot.

4. Hard Work (1-0): Hard Work paid off in the most lopsided victory, 81-33, of the opening week in Westminster. Hard Work had four players in double figures, led by Carlos Matos with 25.

5. Ignite Athletics (1-0): Hot shooting was the theme for Ignite Athletics, shooting 63% from the field in their 76-69 victory. Blake Irwin led the way with 24 points on a scorching 10-11 shooting on the night.

6. Great Unknown (0-1): Great Unknown couldn’t hold on to their first half lead in the opener, dropping the game 55-51. They look to bounce back next week against the Hoopsters.

7. The Gladiators (0-1): No one wants to open with the defending champs, but The Gladiators faced the tough task in week one. A balanced attack of four players in double figures kept the game from getting out of hand, but in the end, The Gladiators lost 79-66.

8. The Bad Boys (0-1): In what was the closest and most heated game of the night, The Bad Boys were on the short end of a 78-75 game in Westminster. Playing with only five guys was a disadvantage for The Bad Boys, who look to bounce back in week two.

9. Hoopsters (0-1): The Hoopsters were led by the overall best performance of the night from Richard Peterson (29 pts, 10 rebs) but in the end, came up short, 76-69.

10. Man Bear Pig (0-1): Not much went right for Man Bear Pig in their lopsided loss, 81-33. The aesthetically un-appealing looks to put this one past them and start fresh in week two.
