MANSFIELD, TX: Playoffs To Be Held This Monday
UHoopaz' Julian Johnson
The basketball courts at Mansfield will undergo refinishing this upcoming Tuesday, and the games will be held on Labor Day Monday. 5 teams will compete for #1.
When prediction talks come up, many emphasize the importance of a cohesive team, basically a team that shows up every game night with all or close to all of its teammates, a factor that has plagued many teams this season due to a few issues, the biggest being school and college semesters starting, which is why only 5 out of the 6 teams are entering.
2 teams are talked about the most when the question of who's to take the crown, and neither of the 2 teams is Redeem Team! Shocker? Not really. They've lost 3 key players including their most prolific scorer and all-around player Cam Barnes to college (Good Luck Cam!) and Elton Baptiste due to injury. This and the struggle to find replacements has had an effect on their play, and their record which now stands at 5-3.
Who do we hear about? Well one team is not a surprise, being the dominant UHoopaz who finish the season at an intimidating 7-1, and doing so with no replacements or fillers, having a full roster of 6 almost every night ready to play, and WIN. The other team may be a shocker to some, but if you look at the stats and team, it makes a lot of sense.
Sitting at an even 4-4,The Fundamentalists are picked to be the "upset team" against UHoopaz. They have also struggled with having a full roster, but they surprised many when they came ready to play with a full roster.
Of course the #1 team is predicted to win it all, but we all know the playoffs breed unpredictability. Will the UHoopaz stay at the top to take the crown, or will we see an underdog like The Fundamentalists spark an upset? Leave your comments below!!
