Abe Froman's Matt Krebs hits the Life Time Trail Series in preparation for another title run.

UH veteran Matt Krebs and online personality Joe Neuenfeldt posing before their trail race

Abe Froman's man in the middle has never been known for his svelte physique or his endurance on the Ultimate Hoops courts. The lumbering giant's (6'8, 275 lbs) footwork and soft hands are keys to his effectiveness when manning the middle for the consensus #1 team in Minneapolis, MN.

Scouting report says to make him run up and down the court and he'll be tugging at his shorts, making him less dangerous. The report might have to be updated. Krebs has added trail running to his in-season conditioning program, looking to get in better shape for another run at the Gold Cup title.

Friend and UH personality Joe Neuenfeldt, convinced Krebs to run in the 2nd race of the Life Time Trail Series held at Murphy Hanrehan park reserve in Savage, MN. The grueling 5.6 mile course, filled with hills and more hills, even had the veteran runner Joe humbled by the experience.

"This is by far, the hardest race I've ever ran in!" exclaimed Joe. Pretty flattering words for the course from the man who's completed multiple marathons and half-marathons.

Kreb's doubters didn't expect him to finish, but just like Abe Froman did, he proved all the nay-sayers wrong. He crossed the finish line to a chorus of applause in under 1 1/2 hours.

With sweat dripping off his face, he took a big rewarding bite out of a piece pizza and washed it down with a gulp of Summit pale ale. Satisfied with his effort, he now has the confidence to go a full 44 and take on any challengers to Abe Froman's throne.
