This week in Ultimate Hoops Toronto changed league forever.
Game 1: Monstars vs Spartans
Game 2: The 6ix vs Rainmen
Game 3: The Moose vs The North
Game 4: Jax vs The Storm
Game 1:
Week 5’s night started off with a bang with the high scoring Monstars playing against the high tempo Spartans. Tonight the Spartans were not theirselves. Brenden Dehaney and Tyrell Atkins finished with 10 points and 14 points respectively. They usually score more then that which hurt them against the Monstars. Bejun Dela Cruz did what he does best hitting 4 threes and controlling the tempo for his team. Kevin Allen and Chris Elizon’s work inside made the biggest difference in this game both grabbing all the boards combine with 22 rebounds. The Monstars bat the Spartans 60 – 48.
Game 2
In the second game of the night The 6ix looked at going hard at one of the top teams in the league The Rainmen. Two Key players that fought hard on the 6ix was the dynamic duo Anthony Irispen and Jeron Kerr. Anthony finished the night with 27 points and Jeron with 15 points and 14 rebounds. The Rainmes quick and catch and go game however did make the difference in this game. All of the Rainmen players played well and scored and contributed with no one with a bad game. They communicated well and moved the ball a lot. The Rainmen got away with a close game winning 56 – 53.
Game 3
In Game 3 the impossible has happened. The lowest record team The North defeated the undefeated Moose in Game 3. Regular high scorers like Justin Wiltshire and Cienna Walker played well, but the Moose weren’t expecting the competitive spirit from The North. Before this game The North were strategizing how to beat The Moose. Rajendra Singh and Stevie Young played great hitting early three pointers and getting fast breaks scoring 15 points and 14 points respectively. The North beat the undefeated Moose 48 – 40.
Game 4
The Storm vs The Jax was the big anticipated rivalry game. Andrew Clarke of The Jax and Dominick Philippe have been smack talking for a long time before this game. Andrew Clarke played hard in this game getting to the basket and getting rebounds, but he was the only one to score double figures with 13 points. Dominick Philippe also was the only one to score double figures for his team, however he finished with 24 points putting a lot of The Jax’s players in foul trouble. The Storm beat The Jax 46 – 39.
